RatRipper :" Yup, , , the “kaboom” after the acquittal will rival the Beirut explosion.
Nothing to do but fight and arrest if they choose to ignore the evidence.
More violent times likely lie ahead."

The George Floyd death was a travesty, as the D.A. released only some of the most damming cell footage,
and suppressed much of the bulk of the footage, only recently released.
The masses of protesters and rioters only know that what they have seen on propaganda TV in sound bites by 'talking heads'.
This has been true in the MMA incident in Florida, the "Gentle Giant" assault on a police officer,
the cigarette 'loosey' salesman in NYC, as well as this cigarette sale by possible counterfeit money,
by someone who was under the influence of drugs, despite his medical condition.
There will be domestic turmoil, protests, and riots regardless of the legal disposition and outcome,
and they will be encouraged by the same known propaganda outlets.
You can count on it !

Well the blogger, Second City Cop, is a Chicago cop, but I can see how I confused things. Sorry.

It isn’t my blog. It’s the blog of a Chicago cop.

Moderator, I messed up when I put Chicago in the title line of this post. I was thinking in terms of the man who writes this blog, but it looks like I was connecting the Derek Chauvin case to Chicago. Feel free to remove Chicago from the title line. :-)

IMO, the whole Floyd thing was to justify the anarchy and riots and destablize things before the election.

Whether he was killed on purpose or this was just a random even the opportunists took advantage of, I suppose is irrelevant.

I do expect even worse should there be aquittals.

The problem isn’t any part of the arrest. It’s the eight minutes and forty-six seconds.

They took him down and knelt n him because he was resisting arrest. Why they didn’t cuff him reasonably quickly and get him in the car still baffles me. Do that, you have a nice, clean arrest.

During the 8:46, Floyd is saying “I can’t breathe” repeatedly and many bystanders are saying, “You’re killing him.” At some point during that 8:46, Chauvin must have known that if he continued to do what he was doing, he would kill Floyd — and he chose to keep doing it.

At that point, whenever that is, you have premeditation.

“The next most obvious point it the autopsy report. Floyd suffered exactly zero damage to his neck, blood vessels, internal musculature, and the toxicology report shows four-times the lethal dose of fentanyl. Even a bottom tier lawyer like Crimesha couldn’t make the case that anything other than drugs and poor health killed Floyd.”

Beats me. Guess the jury will decide.

Very curious about something - The US Supreme Court has ruled that no one is entitled to police protection. IOW - if I understand the impact of the decision - the police can’t be held liable if they fail to show up (in time, or at all) for my emergency after I call them.

So how could they be held responsible for George Floyd not getting immediate care? I know the facts are irrelevant because a picture is worth a thousand words; .... so an 8 minute video must be worth about $80 billion of damage?

But as to my original curiosity - can anyone explain that?

That's covered by something called the deShaney standard.

It was named after a god-awful Children's Destructive Services case, I think in Chicago; it sets a pretty high bar for conditions where the state actually *IS* liable for your well being.

But in this case, George Floyd was in the policemens' custody (as in, "the suspect was taken into custody"); he was not free to leave; he was under direct immediate bodily restraint; and there was *coercive* physical contact, i.e. he didn't have any possibility of going to seek help on his own, as one might say.

So when he said he couldn't breathe, and even one of the cops said he didn't have a pulse, but Chauvin *continued to kneel on his neck*, that I think is what the case is going to hinge upon. This is think is the highest-probability of getting a conviction against Chauvin with respect to this case, which will actually not get blown away by the new video.

But he has other problems, such as getting divorced and charges of tax fraud & stuff.

Not that *that* would satisfy the mobs.

That is absolutely correct. Unfortunately.

The democrats and the deep state need an acquittal for Chauvin, and they want it real bad.

But their plan for Rodney King riots part II will backfire hugely if they go through with it.

Mika Brzezinski - He (Trump) could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think and that is our job.

I know that when it comes to news, commentary and editorials, there's no team I trust better than Joe and Mika. Their professionalism is always on display. The most trusted name in news - next to Brian Williams.

if these police officers are acquitted, it will make the Rodney King riots look like a walk in the park.

Launch Operation Rambo and send the National Guard to secure all of our cities. The troops will be armed and they will be permitted to fire. We do not need to see Rodney King Riots Part III. There will be law and order.

Imagine you are that one reasonable juror. You are told that eventually your name will be revealed. You are as good as dead. Riots are nothing. How many innocent people will die as a result of an acquittal? The media will suppress those incidents.

“”” How many innocent people will die as a result of an acquittal?””””

That’s the price of justice. I know that the America hating muslim AG Keith Ellison wants all these four innocent cops to hang to appease his mobsters in the BurnLootMurder and antifa groups but somebody has to stand up for the truth.

You can roll over and submit if you want, just don’t expect me to do the same.

I have been on a few Minneapolis juries. I am on deck for Federal jury duty this summer if they ever open up.

I did the right thing when asked to. I didn’t follow the herd of lemmings when I was there before.

Who is "Hizzoner"?
