The rioting alone should convince people to vote for Trump. Instead, far too many will vote for Biden or not vote at all thinking the violence will go away if they get Trump out. I expect a surge in rioting soon enough, including some deaths as a result.

Trump can convince everyone right now by sending Federal troops. Proving he is the law and order guy and picking up 10 needed points in the poles!

All federal funds need to be cut off from Portland and Democrat run cities. Let them live in the beds they made.

Slippery slope there.

I think the right approach is wait until the state asks for help. Otherwise, the feds need to stay out of it.

“Day of rage” shows me they’re adopting more of the tactics and emotionalism of Palestinian terrorists.

For the youngsters on FR, here's a trip down Memory Lane...
The Days of Rage demonstrations were a series of violent actions taken over a course of three days in October 1969 in Chicago, organized by the Weatherman faction of the counterculture-era group Students for a Democratic Society. The group planned the October 8–11 event as a "National Action" built around John Jacobs' slogan "bring the war home", which grew out of a resolution drafted by Jacobs and introduced at the October 1968 SDS National Council meeting in Boulder, Colorado.

Date: October 8–11, 1969
Location: Chicago, Illinois
Goals: Create mass action to end American involvement in the Vietnam War

"Days of Rage" is so banal and worn-out. The difference between then and now is the goal then was to "end American involvement in the Vietnam War." Today the goal is a lot simpler...
End America

No, the goal of that faction of the SDS was also to end America.

Obviously elected leaders and officials their need to be far more soft on crime. In fact, just declare crime null and void and give the entire city over to the radicals. I’m sure the violence will subside in 10 to 20 years.

You are correct. Thanks for the correction.

In 1969, SDS used “End the War” exactly the same way that today’s antifa/BLM use “End Systemic Racism” — both were merely convenient red herrings to cover up their plan to End America.

***********

If cities ELECT to allow anarchy and destruction who are we to stop them? Its their choice, let them live with it. It serves as a good example to the rest of the country that election have consequences.

It takes a lot of money to run a city. When the tax base dries up and the city is desperate for money they will be forced to impose some semblance of order. Portland has destroyed its own reputation and will suffer economically and socially for decades to come.

Its their problem, not ours.

I believe that Trump is waiting for the election before finally stepping in. If this isn’t insurrection then what is? It’s high time to squash these cockroaches in Portland and everywhere else, and get rid of this moronic sanctuary city/state BS.

The tactics and strategy are the same, identity politics have taken the place of class struggle.

The leadership cadre of the Weatherman faction had just returned from Cuba to initiate the “bring the war home” debacle. They had the sadz that less than 200 useful idiots showed up for the Gold Coast rampage. At a closed tactical meeting a few days later they realized they would need to go underground.

A decade later they chose to work within the system with better results.

No action until Portland reaches at least 1000 cases of destructive thug rioting.

Leftist logic.

In other words; stupid is as stupid does.

“A decade later they chose to work within the system with better results.”

Yes, that’s when the adopted the Marcuse / Gramsci / Dutschke long march through the institutions strategy. Their results in 2020 have probably far exceeded their wildest expectations.

Agreed, the Frankfurt school of thought was very successful. At least until four years ago. I believe they’ve failed to recognize the pendulum shift as their bag of tricks became much less successful.

I’m happy to have survived to see these times.
