Let’s put it into perspective.
Trump lost none of his supporters from 2016. Meanwhile, he gained from the following groups:
Republicans
Democrats
Blacks
Hispanics
Asians
Women
Men
I read that the only group Trump actually lost votes from was older white men—and that’s because those were the ones who died between 2016 and 2020!
I think the redistribution of population was more of a factor—when Californians move to AZ and GA and NC, that leads to electoral losses in those swing states, even without the fraud.
But Trump did SO WELL with Latinos; I’m happy for Latinos who are waking up. Latinos are natural conservatives: don’t like masks, churchgoers, large close families, own or work for small businesses.
How many people who voted for him in 2016 have since died. Other then those, you are spot on though :D
Yes, he did. And the numbers do reflect that. He got not only more raw votes, but a higher percentage of the vote than in 2016. He went from 46% to 48% of the vote. He held onto all of his support and gained a significant amount of support. The opposition, however, was less fractured. The very small (indeed, smaller than in 2016) handful of Republicans who still wouldn’t vote for him and had voted third party last time went ahead and voted for Biden this time - Biden’s campaign meticulously and aggressively targeted those voters without any competing message from the other side - advertising on subchannels to reach these voters exclusively with zero competition and without saturation of other political ads to make these voters “comfortable” with voting for him, unlike with Hillary. Leftists who voted third party (like the Greens) last time went ahead and voted for Biden out of pure hatred for Trump and not for any love of Biden.
