They did not do their Constitutional duty - they abdicated it.

Exactly, and this is whT the PATRIOTS tried to prevent. Even giving their lives to try to save this nation from the obvious coup that was taking place with Pence blessings. It was the ONLY recourse left to try to save our republic, but apparently objectors feel it would have been more patriotic to just roll over and allow the steal to take p,ace owithout complai I g or trying to prevent it with the on.y means available, PEACEFU. PROTEST WITHIN ...OUR... BUILDING that good fo.,s fight and died to secure for our freedoms

“When we de-couple our patriotism and allegiance away from the Constitution and attach it to an individual or political party, we increase the danger that we unwittingly open a path through which an authoritarian may one day seize power.”

I wonder if the author sees the irony in the above quote taken from his article? He has described the Democrat Party to a tee, yet his implied criticism is of the President. In my view, while the author may consider himself a warrior who has “deployed four times” to combat zones, and attempts to burnish his credentials by pointing this out, he seems to lack the ability to think critically and look objectively at the evidence including the presence of Antifa and BLM inside the Capitol.
