The Vegan Conservatives, a new caucus within the country’s Conservative Party, aim to promote veganism among party leaders and supporters.
New group Vegan Conservatives recently formed in the United Kingdom to promote veganism within the country’s Conservative Party. Made up of party members, councillors, and activists from across the UK, the Vegan Conservatives is considered the vegan caucus of the Conservative Party.
As part of the launch of the group, Conservative Members of Parliament (MPs) from across the country have signed up for Veganuary—an annual challenge that encourages people to follow a vegan lifestyle for the month of January and beyond. MP participants in Veganuary include Henry Smith, MP (Crawley); Mark Garnier, MP (Wyre Forest); John Baron, MP (Basildon and Billericay); Christian Wakeford, MP (Bury South); Andrea Jenkyns, MP (Morley and Outwood); Matthew Offord, MP (Hendon); Ben Spencer, MP (Runnymede and Weybridge); James Daly, MP (Bury North); and Dean Russell, MP (Watford).
“We’re thrilled that so many Conservative MPs are going vegan for January, and to officially launch the new Vegan Conservatives group. At the heart of Conservatism is a desire to conserve and protect our environment. Moving towards a plant-based food system is critical if we are to prevent dangerous climate change, reduce pandemic risk, and protect animals,” Andrew Boff, spokesperson for the Vegan Conservatives, said. “The modern vegan movement was born here in the UK, and as Vegan Conservatives we want to build on, and expand, this proud British tradition. We look forward to working with party members, activists, councillors and MPs to champion the case for veganism, and to working with the government to advocate for policies which help protect the planet, animals, and public health.”
Wasn’t Hitler one of them?
Beer coalition will prevail
A toasted cheese sandwich?
Oh, it’s just a ‘feeling’.
But I do think we’re consuming a whole lot of bad stuff, when we eat mammal meat. (Do you realize all the sorts of hormones that infuse the meat in the process of the slaughter house? All the chemicals that get injected into it before it arrives in your kitchen?)
As I said, don’t worry - you won’t be around to see it; there’s not going to be any end to the mammal-meat industry in our lifetimes - and I love me some hamburgers, hot dogs, and bacon. I was raised on them.
But eventually, we will give it up for a variety of reasons.
Post your recipe!
I suspect we’ll get back to more natural animal husbandry and away from this mechanized form that the left dreamed up. And they did: consider the fact that the ninth plank of communism starts with the words “Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries” and you’ll understand what happened here.
I think we’ll find new ways of doing everything, once the Great God Science outgrows its tunnel vision.
There are two kinds of vegans, those that don’t eat meat and those that don’t want anyone to eat meat.
That’s the left’s god. They needed a substitute false god since they insist they’re atheists. But true science is always in accordance with the true God.
Science is good and useful - as far as it goes.
I just don’t believe that it sees the whole picture, yet; and it doesn’t really claim to. The ones who politicize it do that.
Give it time.
Bread, a slice of Swiss cheese per bread slice, bacon on top. Bake @ 350 degrees until slightly brown.
