A majority of Republicans – including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell – voted Wednesday that the impeachment trial of Donald Trump is unconstitutional.
Senator Rand Paul forced a vote on the matter.
In an op-ed written over the weekend, Paul (R-KY) called the impeachment process against the former President a “farce” and said it should be dismissed.
“The Constitution says two things about impeachment — it is a tool to remove the officeholder, and it must be presided over by the chief justice of the Supreme Court,” he wrote.
Neither of those elements exists in this case, as President Trump is no longer in office and Chief Justice John Roberts has declined to preside over the trial.

McConnell, surprisingly, voted against ending the debate.
McConnell has reportedly viewed the Democrats’ effort to impeach the president as a means to “help rid the Republican Party of Trump and his movement.”

The Turtle realized that he didn’t have the votes to convict so he did a Beijing Biden.
Sure he did, after Chuckie told him to. Chuckie has been looking for ways to kill this monster since the moment Pelosi launched it. Chuckie knows the damage it did to the Democrat/communists in the House. He know that if we solve the voter fraud problem it’s game over for him.
He sees the handwriting on the wall. I have no doubt that he has heard from more constituents than he has ever heard from for as long as he has been in office.
That doesn’t discount the fact that he wants Trump out and will go along with whatever treachery the come up with next (as long as he thinks he can fool his voters)
This is the separation of the wheat from the chaff. These rat RINOs are not going to escape punishment.
It is certain he has heard from his constituents about the trial. Occam’s razor gives the simplest answer: a brief reading of the constitution will tell one this trial is unconstitutional. Mitch said it was wasting the Senate’s time. I won’t read anything into his motivations, though.
