I worked from the time I was 15 until I was 62 -started out with some minimum wage jobs and decided to find something better.

Because of both Democrats and Republicans, COVID-19 and the lockdowns about 78 million people went from “something better” back to minimum wage. So yeah, a higher minimum wage is definitely required. Not once place in the US can one rent an apartment on minimum wage earnings.

The entire entertainment, conventions, travel, events, sports, music, film and cinema, restaurant and bars industry remains shut with no chance of realistically opening until probably 2022 to 2023. That’s a lot of people forced to work McJobs. Decades of experience wiped off the books to man a grill or fry station.

I have no doubt things are tough - I do recall that when the Trump economy started steaming, there were a ,lot of jobs waiting for people to fill them - since I’m retired, and don’t know anyone currently struggling to get a job - most of those I know are gainfully employed - I guess all I can do is say a prayer for those who are struggling.
