The second step depends on their reactions. When they realize that their coup has failed to win over the populace, they can react in a number of ways. All, with pitfalls. I believe that part of their strategy is already cooked in the coup plot. Amnesty for illegals and opening up the country to any who can get here. They see it as diluting the vote of every patriotic american. The trouble for them is that all these new invaders are going to require sustenance, and they simply don’t have the money to make it work.
You know, the strange thing is... Over the past few decades... I have asked my dentists, oral hygenists... about that movie. NONE of them have ever seen it. I find that odd.

These radicals are few in number. We outnumber them - including among labor unions. I work in education, huge numbers of ordinary workers on my campus support Trump. Only the loonies at the top in Labor Unions strongly oppose him.
I think we will be OK if we continue working on reforming election abuse.
The worst-case scenario would be if all comm's were taken down - internet & cell phone service. That's when extreme violence would begin.
I don't know if the people at the top in the White House, the true "Bill Ayres" types, are reckless enough (and hate-filled enough) to do that. It would destroy the economy and tax base instantly.
We all know China would love that move. Would China provide safe haven & passage to all the nutty radicals and tech tyrants as they flee such as situation?
Keeping my fingers crossed they're not THAT insane - but who knows, after what we've seen, non-stop, over past 4 years.

They already shut down business and harmed the economy. They think that they cannot build the “new” system until the old system has been destroyed. I have not seen a communist country that cared more about their economy than total power over people. I think the article might have been intended to demoralize their opposition. The story was probably going to start leaking out with the Trump televised “impeachment” or Mike Lindell telling Dominion and Smartmatic to bring it with their lawsuits or he will sue them.
We need to organize to set up and carry out massive demonstrations in DC and across the country to keep our unity going and to maintain the America First, protect our borders, stop China, hands off our freedoms message.
The reason January 6th turned bad is because we didn't have a unified leadership on the ground and some Leftist agitators steered us into trouble. Our movement is real, our movement is good and our movement is all there is between reality and the suicidal fever dreams of the Left.
The really hard part is finding good, mature field leaders who have the organizational skills and the time to devote keeping this alive.

You make a very interesting point. The Communications Workers of America issued this statement after The Mummy was elected:
"CWA members mobilized to educate and turn out voters. We made phone calls, sent text messages, and spread the word on social media and through conversations with friends, family members, and coworkers. We fought for every vote as if our lives depended on it, because they did."
Along with election fraud, this is another thing to consider.
I believe there is something more primordial at play. People no longer have respect for the law, or worse they see a two-tiered system in play.
The elites can get away with anything while the little guy gets screwed. That kind of schism will only breed contempt for the law, and for society in general.
Look at Hillary and her mishandling of classified information, stored on an illegal server that was installed purely to avoid public scrutiny of her email. Free as a bird. But that submarine sailor who took a selfie with a classified sonar unit in the background, he got nailed to the bulkhead. We could rattle off examples all night long.
Let’s get President Trump back into office then give him a “hangin’ judge” for AG. “Lock her up” for starters.
