The first German attack at Kursk occurred 4 July, the last action was July 17th. The battle lasted about 13 days.
Yep and I think the casualty estimates at Kursk are 800,000 Soviets and 200,000 Germans. That is a heck of a couple weeks!
Upon further re examination of the Battle of Kursk it went into August of and end on the 23rd of that month, 1943. Still I was pointing to the over whelming causalities in men and material for the Allies in all threaters fighting armored warfare against German armored units. It was just as ferocious , if more so at the beginning of the war for the Allied armies.
