ANTIFA FACT-CHECK THREAD: During the impeachment trial today the president's lawyers claimed that one of the first rioters arrested on 1/6 was a member of Antifa/BLM. Various fact-checkers ALL determined this claim was false. In this thread, we fact-check the fact-checkers.
The 'agent provocateur' that the president's lawyers were talking about is John Earle Sullivan aka JaydenX. Before his arrest at the Capitol on 1/6th Sullivan was active in the BLM movement throughout the summer of 2020.
Sullivan began engaging in anti-fascist/government commentary calling for burning down the current political system and replacing it with another system, so it benefits the people and grants them more freedoms.
Frustrated with Lex Scott's (the founder of BLM-Utah) leadership and inspired by Antifa riots in Portland, Sullivan founded 'Insurgence USA' to accelerate the collapse of the current political system through Antifa-style direction action.
After founding 'Insurgence USA' Sullivan traveled to Washington DC to lead protests on the Capitol. While on the stage he claimed he was going to burn down the White House and rip Trump out of office. Video
Sullivan began referring to himself as 'Activist John' and regularly filled his Twitter feed with pro-BLM/Antifa rhetoric and seething hatred of Trump. He would also document his participation in protests and riots on his now-suspended account.
Sullivan routinely tagged his posts with both #Antifa and #BLM. When asked by reporters if he was 'Antifa' he said that while he was anti-fascist he had his own similar direct action organization called 'Insurgence USA'.
Sullivan explained to reporters that, “Am I anti-fascist? We all are anti-fascist. And that’s what we should all strive for being. I have my own organization, Insurgence USA, and that’s what it is for. That’s really what it is.”
Sullivan adopted Antifa's 'black bloc' dress and began training BLM/Antifa insurgents and selling them gear as seen in this video.
On 1/13 self-described anti-fascist and Insurgence USA leader, John Sullivan was arrested for leading the insurrection at the Capitol on 1/6. Sullivan goaded the first casualty of the event to climb through a window just before she was killed.
The FBI alleged that Sullivan told a crowd, "we about to burn this shit down, we got to rip Trump out of office, fucking pull him out of that shit, we ain't waiting until the next election. we about to go get that mother fucker, it is time for a revolution."
Shortly afterward Sullivan could be heard goading Ashli Babbitt to jump through a window as he filmed her being shot and killed by law enforcement.
According to the FBI Sullivan was charged with rioting and criminal mischief during a BLM riot in July in which another civilian was shot and injured. The case is still pending.
Despite Sullivan's claims to the contrary the video footage he provided to the FBI showed that he was clearly inciting the protesters exclaiming, "Let's go! This shit is ours! Fuck yeah! We accomplished this shit! We did this together! Fuck yeah! Let's burn this shit down!
According to the FBI the video also shows Sullivan helping protesters climb the wall.
Once inside the Capitol, according to the FBI, Sullivan could be heard encouraging the protesters suggesting, "We gotta get this shit burned! It’s our house motherfuckers! We are getting this shit.”
Throughout the video Sullivan confronts officers calling for them to stand down.

“At one recent speech in favor of Charlottesville’s status as a sanctuary city, Kessler live-streamed himself as an attendee questioned him and apologized for an undisclosed spat during Kessler’s apparent involvement with Occupy [Wall Street].
Kessler appeared visibly perturbed by the woman’s presence and reminders of their past association.”
“A “journalist, activist and author from Charlottesville, VA,” Kessler’s LinkedIn account states that he graduated of the University of Virginia in 2009. He was virtually unknown in the media prior to his crusade against Charlottesville Vice Mayor and City Councilman Wes Bellamy.”

That’s right! This man is living his dream as a “professional provocateur.” Now he can claim victory as a mastermind behind the worst racial violence to spill blood on our streets in over twenty years.
The more we research the less we believe the false narrative that Jason Kessler was the victim of a hijacked movement. Indeed the facts lead us to a wholly different conclusion. The evidence says this man wanted to stand at the center of controversy. What better way to do it, than to call his rally “Unite The Right.”
He invited the KKK, Neo Nazis, and other White Supremacist groups. This, of course, courted a response from radical extremists from the other side. The New Black Panthers, Black Lives Matter, and Antifa were happy to meet his soldiers and all the sheep on the battlefield.
Sandwiched in the middle, people from the left the middle and the right who had no idea they were just sheep brought to a slaughter.
People from the left who want to see an end to racism, people from the right who want to see an end to the destruction of our past. Those from the middle seeking an end to both!

I can’t find the evidence right now. But I believe it was shown that they are two different people. Although both Jason Kesslers were pro-Occupy Wall Street, Obama-supporting lefties, the CNN blogger guy was someone else.

Question: Did Kessler write articles for CNN that were sympathetic to the Occupy movement?
False. Kessler says he never worked for CNN, and we spoke to a source at CNN who confirmed it. A writer named Jason Kessler was once employed by CNN, and he did cover Occupy Wall Street protests among many other topics, but according to CNN it was not the same Jason Kessler who went on to lead Unite the Right.
On 26 August 2017, the conservative blog SpartaReport linked to a 2013 tweet identifying a Jason M. Kessler as a former CNN reporter (the Charlottesville organizer’s full name is Jason Erik Kessler).

Concerning the Speakers Lobby....
Dunn and Lazarus contradicted each other in their respective Oct. 31, 2022 trial testimonies. Dunn first claimed to have seen Lazarus already at the top of that staircase when he arrived at 2:44 p.m., being “hassled” by protestors.
By contrast, Lazarus testified that he saw Dunn already standing at the top of the staircase landing when he came up from behind him on those stairs. Both men lied in their conflicting stories because Lazarus was in a Senate office building at that moment in time.
It is a physical impossibility for either Dunn or Lazarus to have seen what they claimed in their testimonies in the Oath Keepers trial, and this is borne out by what myself and other @theblaze analysts saw on Capitol CCTV videos from access given to us by @RepLoudermilk.
