Distracted driving significantly increases the likelihood of an auto accident. In the United States alone, 25-50% of all auto vehicle crashes are directly related to driver distraction.
You can put all the lights on a car, make them flashing, even add a siren. These will not stop the accidents, just ask firemen, police and ambulance drivers!
The problem is poorly trained drivers who are distracted. Until you fix these issues, nothing will solve the problem. Because if a light on a car would tell a driver to yield then there would not be emergency vehicle accidents.
I recognize that many people are negligent and even homocidal while driving. Better training and proper use of the safety devices would help. And all the huka puka malarkey new fangled safety dee vices in the Woirld aint gonna substitute for good ol American knowhow.
However, if you are unwilling to acknowledge that vehicle signal and marker lighting saves lives and make our roads safer, then you are an IDIOT.
Your premise, that safety devices and vehicle lighting are a buncha malarkey because people misuse or ignore them sometimes, is IDIOTIC.
