The real reason that Georgetown Law fired adjunct professor Sandra Sellers is because she told the truth about affirmative action

The New York Post just wrote:

Georgetown Law professor caught complaining about black students on Zoom: video

A white Georgetown Law professor was fired Thursday after getting caught on video belittling black students during a Zoom call with a colleague, saying they “usually” perform “just plain at the bottom” of her classes.

Georgetown Law Dean Bill Treanor said he was “appalled” by the conversation between now-terminated adjunct professor Sandra Sellers and another faculty member, David Batson, who was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

Here’s the video of the relevant part of their conversation:

In the video, Sellers says:

“I hate to say this – I end up having this angst, every semester, that a lot of my lower ones are blacks. Happens almost every semester.”

Sellers was fired for that.

She wasn’t fired for lying.

She was fired for telling the truth about affirmative action.

In 2017, the New York Times wrote:

A 2009 Princeton study showed Asian-Americans had to score 140 points higher on their SATs than whites, 270 points higher than Hispanics and 450 points higher than blacks to have the same chance of admission to leading universities.

Sellers’s statement in the video – the statement for which she was fired – is really no different than that quote from the New York Times.

In 2012, the Atlantic wrote this article, which is called, “The Painful Truth About Affirmative Action.” It explains how affirmative action causes many black students to be “mismatched” to colleges that are above their ability.

According to the article, black students who get admitted to college based on merit tend to end up graduating, whereas black students who get admitted to college based on affirmative action tend to end up dropping out. The solution is to get rid of affirmative action, so that each and every black student will be properly matched to a college that matches their own unique ability.

Graduating from a college that the student got admitted to based on merit, is far, far better than dropping out of a college that the student got admitted to based on affirmative action.

Another point that the Atlantic article repeatedly makes is that black students who get admitted based on merit tend to be far happier than black students who get admitted based on affirmative action.

I strongly recommend reading the entire Atlantic article, which is available here.

Sellers’s statement in the video – the statement for which she was fired – is really no different than that article from the Atlantic.

Sellers wasn’t fired for lying.

She was fired for telling the truth about affirmative action.

Sounds like Bill Treanor has Mitt for brains.

I wouldn't entrust that brain-dead POS to take out the garbage.

That’s what she gets for having “angst”

(Who talks like that?)

Angst is a German word. The Nazis were German. So, white supremacist!

So...
Five sources but YOU’RE the author.
You’ve spelled “thief” wrong.

Your blog has nothing to do with any of this.

Get a job.

It made me sad as well as angry when I read that she apologized. Never, never, never apologize. If you do, the Left won’t be satisfied. It will make you look weak and they will “cancel” you anyway. Be like President Trump, who never apoligizes.

I once worked at a state university as a statistician. The Director of Minority Affairs asked me to tell her the drop-out rate of Black freshmen. I did the study. She came to my office a few days later to get the results.

I told her that Black freshmen dropped out at a higher rate than white students. She called me a racist.

I said “ma’am, I am just telling you the results of the study YOU requested. These are the numbers.” The more I simply pointed at the numbers on the paper, the louder she got until she was yelling “You’re a racist!!”.

For many years, I was an engineering manager in development for a major computer company. Each summer I looked forward to having Summer Student Associates come in and work on some of my back burner projects. We hired the top students from Stanford, Cal, MIT, etc. These “kids” were great. They instantly understood the project assigned. They understood design, instrumentation and experimentation and they worked like dogs. Some even left with a patent application filed at the end of the summer. I loved working with them.

The corporation decided to make the SSA program, a minority EO outreach. So rather than finding the best and brightest, they brought in candidates from lesser schools. I tried for two years and gave up. The students were not prepared to do anything, would not reliably show up for work, were not interested in providing any outcome at the end of the summer. I spent hours coaching on setting goals, developing a plan and schedule and monitoring progress, to no avail. I went to HR to understand how I was supposed to write their end of summer appraisal, when they had basically done nothing all summer. My appraisals were pieces of art, carefully scripted to have any subsequent interviewer read between the lines. Hmmm…. Was that a micro-aggression?

Today I would probably have been fired for asking the question.

The biggest victims of AA are Asians. They now number about half of the number of blacks in the US. They know that their kids are getting screwed, BIG TIME, by AA. If they were simply able to understand that it’s the Democrats who they are voting for punishing them in that way, they could do a lot to end AA.

Unfortunately, the Republicans don’t have anyone who speaks Asian, so they don’t know how to communicate with them (and they were also too busy getting rid of Trump to care).

And the use of the word “angst” was popularized by Martin Hiedeigger so was charge of the nazification of German universities.

Justice, fairness, ethics, knowing right from wrong, and honor are all based on truth and facts.

Every law on the books in our entire nation is applied according to supportable truth, facts, and supporting evidence.

Without truth and facts then you will have no justice, fairness, personal or professional ethics or honor.

Lock and load. Soon Might will decide what is right.

I’ve had serious professors at serious universities (Big Ten) tell me the same thing (and then some)!

The SJW have created a remarkable catch-22. On the one hand, they claim that Blacks are oppressed and can’t achieve what whites have. On the other hand, they get offended if you point out that Blacks have not achieved what whites have, even if you blame whites for it. Bottom line — slavery and Jim Crow are an embarrassment to SJW because it illustrates that the Black race was dominated by the white race.

Affirmative action is government enforced racism against white and asian people.

She may be one of the few faculty members who really care enough about those students to want to do something.

Once that ZOOM meeting starts, EVERYONE can hear what you say, even though you haven't officially started the session.

I am a university math lecturer, and I NEARLY did the same thing while having a conversation with someone who had walked into my office. I was telling this person about a student who never showed up for a single test and the Final Exam, but then had the nerve to ask me for the grade of 'I' (incomplete) instead of 'F'. I told the person that the student was "black", but instead of saying it out loud, I mouthed the word "black" and went on to say that I looked them up and saw that every other professor they had gave them the grade of 'I'. So I said to the person that I ended up letting them take the Final Exam late instead of giving them the grade of 'I', because the student did not deserve an Incomplete, and that the student made a 'D' on the Final, so I gave them a 'D' for the course. I then looked at my laptop and saw that the ZOOM session had started and immediately started the lesson and carried on as if nothing had happened.

This was 6 weeks ago. I have been paranoid as all get out that someone would have figured out what I was saying and report me, but so far nothing. Even though I spoke the truth, it's something my university would fire me for without batting an eye. I think I'm okay. Gotta watch it in future. Always be vigilant.
