Former President Donald Trump is leaning towards taking a trip to the U.S.-Mexico border soon, as federal officials struggle to deal with a surge in illegal border crossings.
“A lot of people want me to,” including Border Patrol personnel, Trump said in an interview with Fox News on Saturday night.
It sounds like he hasn’t decided yet.
I like that him going to the border would rub Biden’s nose into his own failures, but I would be fine if Trump did not go due to the danger of such a trip. The danger of someone trying to do something to The Donald. He would be a very brightly colored target.

The Prez should go after Biden, if Biden ever goes. Else the Prez will be accuses of ‘grand standing’ Sleepy Joe. IMO

And I’ll bet that the BP folks down there will welcome him like a conquering hero. Gonna be lots of selfies with the trademark “Thumbs Up”.
If what folks who have been around him and say about him are true, that man is about as safe as anyone will ever be.
It’s been said that when he used to visit his construction sites, he would talk to the workers before he talked to anyone else. Look at how he treated folks at his rallies and elsewhere.
Look up how he interacted with the local cops that were doing security for him during his trips and how he would shake hands and take pics. You’re never going to to see that with the two morons in the White House now.
For folks that have interacted with his kids, love or hate ‘em, they say the same things. Apparently it was common for Ivanka and her kids to bring food to the agents outside her home.
Ergo, the man cares. He gives a damn. And, as someone that has done some of that work, if you think the person you’re there for actually cares, brother/sister you’ll do damn near anything for them.
He’ll be fine.

Retail Politics is not something most of today’s politicians do, except late in a campaign cycle. It’s hard work. It involves a lot of diplomacy and self discipline.
Uncle Joe didn’t do much retail politics during his campaign. He was cranky and likely to ridicule or even threaten any ‘less than glowing’ voter responses.
