Every time I get an itch to relocate, there’s a downside to anywhere but where I am — central PA. Mild climate, not many tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes; low taxes; gun friendly.

But I have to admit Tennessee is a bit warmer and they don’t have a state income tax, and they probably don’t have the tide of newcomers that we have here, mostly fleeing NY and NJ.

For sure you made a wise choice. My relatives who have property in CA spend less time every year out there and eventually will be fed up like you.

Never regretted my relocation to the great PNW decades ago. Now in North Idaho, where the winters tend to keep the riff raff out. Was enjoying morning coffee while an active cell filled the air with large, wind driven snowflakes. Nothing stuck, as it was a few degrees above freezing.
