Province of Ontario is being killed off by its own government
The pre-Covid-19 scandalous state of hospitals and long-term care homes in the Province of Ontario led to the utter devastation of the province that was, until not long ago, Canada’s economic engine.
“Doctors in the Canadian province of Ontario may soon have to decide who can and cannot receive treatment in intensive care as the number of coronavirus infections sets records and patients are packed into hospitals still stretched from a December wave. (Reuters, April 12, 2021)

This is the long standing legacy of a system created by Lester Pearson, Pierre Trudeau, and Tom Kent during the 1965 to 1969 period. Now, the public service unions run healthcare (with clerical and janitorial staff being paid that good bit above their private sector counterparts) while politicians portray themselves as the benevolent ones promising health care for all (”the most popular government program ever created” in the words of a former PET cabinet minister).
For many years, it failed the doctors and nurses who eventually quit this system to seek better employment opportunities and working conditions in the United States and patients (those able to afford also simply go to the United States for quicker treatment). Not surprising, it continues to fail the public at large nowadays.
The Chinese Protectorate of Ontario can go pound sand... er snow.
