Open request for prayers regarding an OLD TIME Freeper: Appalachian_Dweller has just this day been diagnosed with Lung Cancer. He has no health insurance and he’s a 55 year old former smoker. He is one of my closest friends and has had a mighty influence on this site, even though neither one of us has been here recently. When I first met him, here, back in the late 1990’s, we began a friendship that eventually led to a meeting and then an extended stay as our guest in our home in Miami, Florida along with his wonderful pup, Clyde (since crossed the Rainbow Bridge).
Hope he can get some help. Even if he’s not former military, there should be some government programs that can help mitigate his lack of insurance. Will be praying.

Can you find out what specific form of lung cancer it is? There may be insights from studies to help.

Financially he should just get the treatment he needs. Hospitals have funds set aside to help with those who have no insurance.

It is open enrollment for insurance on the ACA federal exchange at www.healthcare.gov and also at the state exchange websites for states that do not use that website. You can pick an insurance plan with low out-of-pocket maximum, and that will limit expenses. I would call immediately to get the earliest possible start date.
For alternative treatment as effective as the doctors would give, I recommend fenbendazole, which is available over the counter. This has been discussed on FR before, and the best source for info is here: https://www.mycancerstory.rocks/
