The other day, I was chatting with some friends about what to do about America’s new, alien mask culture: How can we drive it from our country, why it hasn’t been rejected yet, and what responsibility each of us bears for transforming this mere hope into a reality.
At one point, a friend shared this short clip of Jordan Peterson. How would he answer the question, “Whose fault is it that the safety-above-all-else mask culture persists?”
Peterson does not lay the blame on Joe Biden, Anthony Fauci, the legacy media, the Centers for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, or the Chinese Communist Party. His answer?
It’s your fault.
I admit I was a little bit taken aback by this, even though I’ve listened to Peterson ever since he burst onto the scene in 2016 by cooly talking sense to irrational social justice warriors at the University of Toronto. I think that’s probably because, while his “rules for life” always seemed correct in the abstract, it also seemed to me that opportunities to live them out would be rare, perhaps even something for others to do. But now, I no longer think that—not when the once-clownish totalitarians, confined to campus safe spaces and given Play-Doh and dogs to pet because of “stress,” are steering my country into dangerous waters.
But even so, can it really be my responsibility to end this? Am I really obligated to be a kind of Solzhenitsyn, to stand up, alone (if that’s how the cookie crumbles), against officialdom’s many reigning institutional power centers, and flip them the bird, bare-faced?

For those still wearing masks, but hating it, I think May 1st should be the date. Biden has had 100 days. The vaccines are out there. The numbers are down. Refuse the mask. It’s time.
The mask mandates won’t end until a few Law Firms start Running TV Ads to SUE Every Last Person involved in enforcing said mask mandates for the Medical and Psychological Problems they create. I mean Government, Teachers, Schools, Businesses,... EVERYONE
WHEN THEY ARE ALL BANKRUPTED AND HOMELESS it will end.
Most times, no one notices or cares. If anyone mentions it, I'll just say, "Ooops" and pull it up...until it "slips" down again.
We collectively should have all gone out unmasked months ago and ended this nonsense. Like a day without a Mexican we could have a day without a mask.
I urge you to walk in without a mask or bandana and see if they let you in. I bet you’ll be surprised to find out that no one says anything. Even when there are signs on the doors, give it a try. There may be some stores that will stop you, but a lot of them want your business and won’t turn you away. You can always retrieve the bandana from your pocket should someone confront you.
It’s very liberating, and it’s a good first step towards getting rid of these ridiculous coverings. People need to be brave at this point. JUST DO IT.
How else will we get our freedoms back if we do not take them back ourselves? TPTB surely won’t give them back.
Most people still wear them in stores because they don’t want to be kicked out or bullied.
If we set up and get rid of the mask day and everyone who isn’t a Karen went into stores unmasked, it could work. You need numbers to descend at once and overwhelm to door nazis.

In fact, I did. I went to the grocery store last week per my usual schedule and neglected to wear my black 'bandito' bandana in to the store. I was there for about 45 minutes and not one person, customer of staff said a single, solitary word nor did I get any stinkeye glances. It was interesting.
Take a photo of the *footnote under the mask order, which says something to the effect of “Unless wearing a mask would...”
You get grief, call the manager.

I’ve been doing that in the Tucson area for at least six months. No employee has said anything except maybe 8 or 10 times total, and I don’t return to those places. Only two Karens have said a word, either. Unfortunately, at least 90% of shoppers are still wearing the muzzle around here.
Lately I have even gone maskless at the dentist and in two doctors’ waiting rooms.
I shop at walmart several times a week. I never wear a mask and have never since the start of this nonsense. Finally, now I’m starting to see more people following suit.
For the more timid among us who don’t want to be embarrassed or shamed, there is a way forward. Always bring your mask, but don’t put it on unless someone asks. If nobody asks, stay maskless. Just make them ask before you comply. Doing so will make a difference.
I’m thinking of making it a game. I’ll take along my Garmin Forerunner, which I can use as a stopwatch, and in each store, I will time how long it takes before I’m asked by a staff member to put on my mask, which I will have in my pocket.
If another customer asks me to put it on, I will simply show him or her my vax card (fully immunized) and hopefully, he or she won’t go full karen on me.
I’ll bet they’re not so riot-y now, since Hogan keeps extending the emergency order, and extending it, and extending it, and so on.
Excellent practical advice for areas where rabid maskers roam.
Even though masking is a dirty habit -- and completely, totally, 100% ineffective against transmission of a virus -- and you would expect people to want to break that habit as quickly as possible, like any bad habit -- even an unhealthy bad habit -- a habit which has been ingrained deep in peoples' psyche over a long time, it's going to be difficult for people to overcome right away. It will take time for people to overcome their increasingly irrational fear and develop the inner courage to break this vile masking habit.
Furthermore, forced masking of a healthy population is among the Democrat/communist/Left Party's most powerful weapons against our American Republic. Living constantly among great numbers of people wearing the de-humanizing, identity-hiding mask is a powerful visual reminder that America is sick -- that we're all just a cough or a sneeze away from certain death. Maintaining a widespread level of fear, distrust, depression and anger among the population is essential to the Democrat/communist/Left Party's plan to replace our Republic with a socialist system and they're not about to give up on their dreams at this point. Expect this to continue until Americans stir from their year-long coma of fear ... it's coming, but agonizingly slowly.
