The author make a few mistakes with his numbers.

There were 21 million guns sold in 2020, not 15 million.

There were 8.4 million new gun owners, not 5.1 million.

I suspect his numbers were taken before the year was done.

Maybe he went by NICS checks, rather than industry feedback. Any idea what percentage of guns sold are used?
