People want to believe what they want to believe. To a lot of these people "Q" is their version of deus ex machina. They simply don't want to believe it's fake because it solves everything they want solved if it's real.

Wishful thinking.

"Q" isn't the only thing people have a cult like belief system regarding. I find that a lot of otherwise intelligent people are perfectly willing to believe crazy unsupportable ideas on all sorts of subjects.

Global warming and transgenderism come to mind. :)

We are obviously of like mind. Glad to to meet you Diogenes Lamp. I do a lot of contracting work and one day I was in Dallas on a multi-city contract. I was at the Hilton in Dallas (the highrise with the ball on top). Went down to the lounge to get a burger and beer. The guy on my left worked for NOAA. He told me he worked for NOAA and was working to save the world from Globull Warming. I politely told him Anthropogenic Global Warming was a crock of $hit. And asked him which model over the last 30 years had proven out and if he knew what non-linear chaotic systems were...lol. I thought he was going to make a very bad mistake and attempt to assault me. I guess not budging and smiling when he stood up from his barstool as if though I wanted a fight was enough to make him take his beer and leave. And then to top it off, the news was playing on the tv behind the bar showing clips from during the current intifada in Israel. I told him I hope they push the Palis into the Med. He then told me he was Jewish and that I was a savage...lol. This country has gone full blown retard. No offensive to the mentally handicapped.

Sorry, I think it is the Hyatt, not the Hilton. I traveled so much in those days I once woke up in Buckhead, ATL, GA. Looked out the window at the highrises and saw no noticeable landmarks. (They have no neon ordinance in Buckhead) and literally had no idea where I was. I had to get the directory out to figure out where I was. Given, after some Irish wine and it was 4 am.
