One of the greatest mysteries of history. There are literally thousands of theories as to what caused the collapse. From floods, droughts, "sea peoples", to aliens. I don't ascribe to this person's theory, but it is s a good segway into discussions. All we know for sure is the only major civilization to survive this collapse was Egypt, and they never regained their power again and would be under Alexander the Great in several hundred years.

I read about the ‘sea people’ when I was 12 years old. (It was long ago in MY reading career)

Deuteronomy 7 predicted this. Is that relevant?

Seven years of famine about which Joseph informed the Pharoah? And, Joseph, said, all of the peoples of the earth would come looking for food in Egypt. More than likely, this period is exactly when Joseph interpreted Pharoah’s dream.

In fact some scholars suggest that the events described in the Iliad, such as the destruction of Troy and the Odyssey pertain to this period.

When I was an undergrad, studying on the western slope of Fiji Hill in 1969, a professor of religion expressed that same hypothesis.

Surely researchers can do DNA analysis of burials before and after the “ sea people” invasions are determine their origin.

It’s a real STRETCH to call ISIS a natural development in reaction to ongoing change...ISIS was and is a man-made terror weapon intended as a political tool by globalists looking to topple regimes unfavorable to their goals.

Yeah obama hillary rice and biden....we’re talking about you,

I have read that there is evidence of an ancient flood.

There is a funny movie about the Flood with Steve Carell. He is compelled to build an ark and all the animals are attracted to him.

I’m pretty sure that the marauding force from the sea that destroyed these civilizations were from the early Democrat nation.

One theory never discussed (or fact, depending on one's belief system) is Judgement. Those things were biblical.

Climate change...(rolling eyes here)

IOW, they were invaded by illegals and were forced to become woke resulting in 2+2=5, proper language was destroyed and violence ruled.

All the more reason that now while we have the technological means, the “solution” to “climate change” IS NOT with chasing after CO2; investing in technologies to replace it. It is to invest in the technological means by which societies can better adapt to and mitigate the effects of “climate change”.

Why? Even if you are an alarmist (Full disclosure, I am NOT), the science and your “models” show that with the largest measures in chasing CO2 that can and will be most likely be done now, it will be 100 to 200 years before CO2 quits mounting higher in the atmosphere. That means with our best “CO2 efforts” the generations over the next 100-200 years will still experience what the alarmists predict (so their own models say).

Meanwhile, instead of investing in measures for adaptation and mitigation, trillions will have been diverted down the rabbit hole chasing CO2. The economies will have been diminished and wasted and the “warming” will be upon them anyway.

The alarmists will have created the massive losses to society they predict, not because of the “warming” but because of chasing CO2 instead of preparing society for adaptation and change.

Sea people for our time missing?

As if.

Look at, for example, these Muslim so-called “refugees” who seem to be predominantly men of military service age.

“In short, modern man, be not proud. “Every society in the history of the world has ultimately collapsed,” Cline points out. “We should be thankful that we are advanced enough to understand what is happening and to take steps to fix things, rather than simply passively accepting things as they occur.”

Hubris of the highest order.

Anacyclosis is immutable social law because it is based upon man’s very nature.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anacyclosis

There is no escape.

OF COURSE thinking man in these past civilizations saw what was happening, and understood the full course of events. Hell, the Roman Republic was designed with the checks and balances they believed would put an end to this cyclical history.

It was just impossible to stop.

Man wont’ recover next time if there is some huge event.
The world will be laid waist with radiation from exploding nuclear power plants. Since you can’ simply switch them off then when the cooling systems stop running they all go boom. The reactors along with many thousands of spent fuel rods in the pools will all be scattered debris across the world. 100,000 years of death.
