Have you read about the election of 1860

Lincoln got 39% in a four way race....with democrats running up north too

Tell you’re not so uninformed as to think a southern democrat in 1860 is the exact same animal as say ALC or BLM

TALK RADIO is a bad source for history...

Y’all just ape ape ape....slavery shmavery just like leftist do

After I’ve warned folks here for 20 years it would come to where it is now

You are so weak as to believe if you demonize southerners and our ancestors maybe nobody will say you’re a racist

How are the GOPe working out for u

They betrayed Donald Trump I can tell u that

Happy?

The left has demonized southern conservatives forever...that GOPe and talk radio and certain “historians” assist is disgusting

And it’s led right where we said it would

A stepping stone to everything ...

“The left has demonized southern conservatives forever...that GOPe and talk radio and certain “historians” assist is disgusting”

This really starts with the influence of Harry Jaffa and the Claremont Institute. An influence strong among talk radio conservatives, even though I doubt that any of them actually read Jaffa. They pick it up second hand all the same.

Jaffa was the anti-Russell Kirk. Harry Jaffa is a “proposition nation” promoter. The theory popularized by neoconservatives, the one that dismisses the role of the culture and history of American colonials.

Jaffa-ites act like America’s “founding” is a philosophy class exercise. They pay no attention to the soil that it grew from, the character and culture of the American colonials.

By contrast, Russell Kirk’s writing describes the organic development of America from its roots in British history and the culture of Colonial America.

In Kirk’s world, the “founding” was the rebellious act that made official 150 years of Colonial ideas of self reliance. The belief by Colonials that they could rule themselves. An idea that had been simmering for a long time. When that self confidant belief ran into high handed treatment by a distant Parliament the fight was on.
