Jen Psaki, the White House press secretary, confirmed today that the White House is flagging posts with supposed “COVID misinformation” and pushing social media firms like Facebook to remove them:

"We are in regular touch with the social media platforms" about #COVID19-related misinformation, says @PressSec. "We're flagging problematic posts for Facebook."

I’m sure the media and the left will collectively shrug at this discovery, but picture Kayleigh McEnany disclosing that the Trump administration was reporting posts for removal from social media platforms. This would be a major scandal, and social media corporations would be forced to come forward and apologize for cooperating with the Trump government in order to suppress individuals. This is something I am certain of.

In fact, McEnany has already responded to this discovery, arguing that the White House is really helping Trump win his Big Tech lawsuit..

Facebook is a cutout so that the federal government can evade court oversight while it censors and controls American citizens and the world thereby gutting both the 1st and 4th Amendments of the Constitution.

Touché. The wailing and gnashing of teeth would be constant. There would be tightly-puckered sphincters in every major newsroom.

But it has been obvious for years that the news media (and many other businesses) regard themselves as active partners with Democrat administrations. I saw this ramp-up during the Obama years, and it has only gotten worse. Right now, many private businesses are acting as arms of the Biden administration through vaccine mandates and other coercive measures.
