They want to make sure when they steal the election again and people possibly rebel, that those in the military will strictly follow orders. No dissenters allowed.
They trash the military because they think China is their natural ally and won't take advantage of a dissipated demoralized and weak defense force. China is their ally for the moment but is not their friend.
