Even as President Joe Biden has called for additional gun control measures, lawmakers across the country have continued to pass so-called Second Amendment sanctuary laws or resolutions, which oppose and even prohibit or impede the enforcement of certain gun measures by the state or federal government.
Proponents of “sanctuary” laws argue that many gun control resolutions are in fact a violation of the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.
Carroll County, Maryland became the first to explicitly use the term “sanctuary” in a resolution in May 2013, but it actually began a few years earlier when some counties found themselves in conflict with Democratic-run state legislatures over the issues related to the Second Amendment. To date, there are about 1,200 local governments in forty-two states that have adopted such resolutions.

Certainly cities and counties have every right to decide how they’ll spend their own money, which includes how their law enforcement spend their time. Unfortunately, this also means that some cities refuse to assist in enforcing immigration laws, which makes those places worse for their citizens. 2A sanctuaries just result in the people living there being more free.

We’re actually using that site as one of the sources to decide which other county in NC to move to. Currently in Mecklenburg and it’s one of only several that ARE heavily infested with Biden voters and NOT a 2A sanctuary county. If & when the bottom drops out...I’d like to be surrounded by like-minded people. A bonus would be a Republican Sheriff.

Has any county ignored or superseded their state’s laws concerning guns yet? Like the FFL holders in the county ignoring a one gun a month policy for residents of the county or something.

My County is one of the last sane places in Minnesota.
That reminds me I’m low on 243. Never think about it really, 2 boxes for hunting and check scope is all I ever kept.
Academy here had 30-30 today. Only 380 was $20 for 20, hornady, and I’ve read that’s the only thing the bersa upchucks. Buck per round, I said no thanks. Anyway, I don’t want ammo I’m not sure about if I need it to WORK right now...most folks say it will eat anything you feed it, except hornady rounds according to some. I’ll keep looking and not take my chances, especially on critical rounds.
