Study Out of Brown University Finds Children’s IQ Dropped 21% During Pandemic

While discussing masks mandates, author Naomi Wolf expresses shock that a new study from Brown University — which suggests a 21% drop in children’s IQ during the pandemic — is not front page news.

In the decade preceding the pandemic, the mean IQ score on standardized tests for children aged between three months and three years of age hovered around 100, but for children born during the pandemic that number tumbled to 78.

They added mask-wearing by adults may have also impacted babies’ development because children were less able to learn from facial cues.

But this angle was not fully investigated:

“One aspect also not investigated here is the impact of mask-wearing by the study staff during child visits and assessments . The inability of infants to see full facial expressions may have eliminated non-verbal cues, muffled instructions, or otherwise altered the understanding of the test questions and instructions.”

Talk about dummying down education. First it was the federal government common core curriculum, then the blasphemous woke curriculum, then CRT, and now the masks.

Actually, what it could show is rising IQs till the Woke shit storm of the last five years hit.

That would be a cultural phenomenon as a cause and considering how being Woke can turn adults into idiots what else would it do to kids?

Progressives: closing minds early by teaching them idiotic things.

Can I ask a stupid question?

How do you measure IQ on a three month old baby?

How does that baby take a test of any kind? Do they give IQ points if the baby smiles while filling his diaper? What sort of realistic testing can they do on a 3 month old?

New Zealand just locked down the entire country over a single COVID case so that’s how things are going over there!

If ever you feel unhappy about your regional leadership in the United States—if your governor is a little heavy-handed with the COVID restrictions, if your state legislators seem far too eager to defer to “public health experts” in shutting down your multigenerational family business—then just think, it could be worse: you could live literally anywhere in New Zealand:

New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced a nationwide lockdown after the country confirmed one coronavirus case — the first locally transmitted Covid-19 case in the community since February...

New Zealand will be under the strictest level lockdown level for the next three days starting from 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, local time, Ardern said. Under level four lockdown, everyone must stay home and businesses are closed aside for essential services such as supermarkets and pharmacies.

All of this for one COVID case? Think how bad it would be if they’d found two.

Being forced to stay home is certainly unpleasant, no arguments there. But at least you can, you know, maybe have a chat with your neighbors over the back fence, just to keep up a little meaningful human contact? Oh wait:

Only 21%? Biden’s dropped double that number. Judging from his recent actions, he is now in negative territory.

Remote schooling was bad news for my grandson last year.
We tried to do algebra tutoring over the internet but it’s no substitute for the classroom.
Thankfully he’s back full time this fall.

Anyone who has cared for an infant knows that it is important for them to see your face...they get cues from your expression.

It’s so cute when they get to the stage where they see you smile and grin back :-)
