Why would Afghan militants be sentencing people to death in a city in Iraq? That’s about 1400 miles away.

This is a spoof scam and disinformation that has been in existence on the internet since at least 2009 in various forms.
That said, do indeed pray for Believers and westerners in general that the taliban is restrained and that no harm comes to NGO personnel doing good work in sh>>t holes like AFG.
Otherwise, we may indeed see a major re-entry operation to protect non-combatant western personnel....

Any word from the pope on saving these missionaries? The taliban won’t care, but it might make some people think that the pope is actually Christian.
This email, or slight variations of it, has been going around the internet for years now.
It’s a hoax. That’s not to discount the real suffering and persecution that is happening.
I don’t believe this message was from Jack Hibbs.
Last night at a prayer service he mentioned that a lot of people are on the internet posting stuff that is supposedly from him and soliciting donations to fake causes using his name and image. He said not to fall for it.
That being said, there are a lot of Christians in the Middle East and Afghanistan that desperately need our prayers.

If you google Quaragosh 229, and scroll down about 3 pages, you will see 229 missionaries mentioned in January 2020 and perhaps before. There are several articles claiming to debunk this as a viral hoax.
Notheless, it is a dangerous time to be a Christian missionary in Afghanistan or Iraq. Or just to be a Christian for that matter.
So prayers up for them all.

The Taliban don’t operate much outside of Afghanistan unless they are sneaking across the border with Pakistan to hide from the USA (or the Russians back in the day).

I posted this because a friend asked me to. I didn’t check it out and should have.
Nevertheless, God works in strange ways and any way to get people to pray is never a total loss. Well-intentioned prayers are heard as well.
