I always feel better when I get away from internet and phones for 3 or 4 days and I find it only takes me about 15 minutes to catch up (kinda like a soap opera).

Not to detract from the position of the OP, I’ve always thought that nature is cruel and that there wasn’t a great deal of publicity for the really ugly human behaviors. Perhaps the Creator has allowed the 24/7 bombardment for other reasons.
