They engineered the vaccine rna such that it is more stable in the cell. See chemical and engineering news (c&en) on web for a very interesting article about the tweaks engineered into the mRNA of covid 19 vaccine. Long term effects....who knows.
Why did they decide to use this technology instead of just making spike protein(or other antigens) in other cells outside of the body. (Done all the time) Why was it necessary to highjack our own bodies living cells to become a chemical factory is beyond me. Smart, tricky..but why?
