&lOct 12, 2000 - 13 Tishrei, 5761

* Two Israelis who lost their way in 2000, "Palestinian" massses lynched them barbarically (after dressing them with soldier uniforns - the biased BBC still han not corrected its factual errors). The crimes were committed with aid from their own police... They mutilated the bodies... It was in public Square with screams of sick "joy" as a body was thrown half alive... the ecstatic shrieks at the organ waving...

* An eyewitness journalist described: "they were like animals."

* Among used terms by writers, activists: Animalistic, bestiality.

* The photographer wad threanted with clubs, knives... Italian crew was also threatened not to publicize clips.

* Terrorized journalists apologized to the PA afterwards and, especially since that period, it is one of classic phenomenons of journalists' images selective showing of images in line with an (anti-Israel) agenda. And truthfulness as a whole. Not to mention fake reporting.

* In numbers:

- 'over 1,000 Palestinians gathered outside the (police) station calling for the death of the Israelis.'

- The thousands of onlookers...

* An infamous image of a proud lyncher with his stretched blooded hand on the window - shocked the world.

* One of the lynchers to the wife of one of the victims when she called her husband's phone: "I just killed your husband."

* "Palestinian" Arab policeman had a some part in the crime...

* A prominent journalist (Nachum Barnea) coined the term 'lynch test" - which the (hate site) 'Haaretz' does not pass the of LYNCH TEST...

* Years later, the official Palestinian Authority has paid the main lynchers cash.

* Years later, the 'Palestinisn Authority' TV praises attackers from 2000 Ramallah lynching.

Eyewitness to Ramallah Lynching (October 2000) - Jewish Virtual Library

A British photographer working on a pictorial study of Palestinian refugees stumbled on the event after the initial attack in the Ramallah police station. He did not witness that aspect. He subsequently described what he did see in The Sunday Telegraph, a respected British daily newspaper.

"I had arrived in Ramallah at about 10.30 in the morning and was getting into a taxi on the main road to go to Nablus, where there was to be a funeral that I wanted to film, when all of a sudden there came a big crowd of Palestinians shouting and running down the hill from the police station.

I got out of the car to see what was happening and saw that they were dragging something behind them. Within moments they were in front of me and, to my horror, I saw that it was a body, a man they were dragging by the feet. The lower part of his body was on fire and the upper part had been shot at, and the head beaten so badly that it was a pulp, like a red jelly.

I thought he was a soldier because I could see the remains of the khaki trousers and boots. My God, I thought, they've killed this guy. He was dead, he must have been dead, but they were still beating him, madly, kicking his head. They were like animals.

They were just a few feet in front of me and I could see everything. Instinctively, I reached for my camera. I was composing the picture when I was punched in the face by a Palestinian. Another Palestinian pointed right at me shouting 'no picture, no picture!', while another guy hit me in the face and said 'give me your film!'

I tried to get the film out but they were all grabbing me and the one guy just pulled the camera off me and smashed it to the floor. I knew I had lost the chance to take the photograph that would have made me famous and I had lost my favourite lens that I'd used all over the world, but I didn't care. I was scared for my life.

At the same time, the guy that looked like a soldier was being beaten and the crowd was getting angrier and angrier, shouting 'Allah akbar' - God is great. They were dragging the dead man around the street like a cat toying with a mouse. It was the most horrible thing that I have ever seen and I have reported from Congo, Kosovo, many bad places. In Kosovo, I saw Serbs beating an Albanian but it wasn't like this. There was such hatred, such unbelievable hatred and anger distorting their faces.

The worst thing was that I realised the anger that they were directing at me was the same as that which they'd had toward the soldier before dragging him from the police station and killing him. Somehow I escaped and ran and ran not knowing where I was going. I never saw the other guy they killed, the one they threw out of the window.

I thought that I'd got to know the Palestinians well. I've made six trips this year and had been going to Ramallah every day for the past 16 days. I thought they were kind, hospitable people. I know they are not all like this and I'm a very forgiving person but I'll never forget this. It was murder of the most barbaric kind. When I think about it, I see that man's head, all smashed. I know that I'll have nightmares for the rest of my life."

Murderer took Israeli wife's frantic cell call

JERUSALEM - Hani Avrahami, the wife of one of the two Israelis killed by a Palestinian mob in Ramallah, heard from her husband's killers on a cell phone while he was being murdered Thursday.

She was surfing the Internet that afternoon and saw a report of Israeli soldiers in trouble in Ramallah. Anxious, she called the mobile phone her husband Yosef had taken with him to reserve duty.

No one answered at first. She tried again. This time a voice asked: "Who are you looking for?"

"Yossi, my husband," said Hani.

"I just killed your husband," said the voice.

It was another gruesome moment in a horrifying national experience as the families of the dead Israelis buried one yesterday and prepared to bury another - Avrahami - tomorrow.

Burying his brother Vadim yesterday, Mikhail Nourezitz was at a loss to fathom the Palestinian mob that killed him.

https://datacheck.co.il/PsakDin.asp?id=922573

At 10:30, the Palestinian crowd drags them down Al-Manara Square. Insane abuse, real cannibalism. I write the graphic (censored) description that must be remembered. One of them is set on fire. The rioters tear off their internal organs and wave them in triumph. I go through the film in slow motion, the pictures like customers from a pagan revelry. A policeman is standing by the window. There is a river of happiness on his face and he waves to the crowd with his hands in the gesture of a football player who has scored an amazing goal. A woman running in the crowd, dressed in the white of angels, running feverishly rejoicing in amok.

The lynching continues until a rumor spread in the crowd that the IDF is about to act causes him to flee. All those minutes, an Italian TV crew documents the raging barbarism. Within 15 minutes, the news of people captured in Ramallah reaches Israel. ..

Vadim Norzhich

... were apprehended by Palestinian police after they mistakenly entered the Palestinian controlled town of Ramallah. They were brought to Palestinian police headquarters in the center of Ramallah, where a violent mob of Palestinians stormed the building and tortured the soldiers to death, mutilating and defiling their bodies beyond recognition.

At a funeral in Or Akiva attended by thousands, Mikhail Norzhich eulogized his brother, saying that he had forced himself to look at newspaper photographs that documented the brutal death. "I saw my brother's blood on his murderers' hands," he said in a faltering voice. "At the hospital I asked that they open the coffin, and I saw what they did to him. Human beings can't do such a thing - only animals can. Mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, I beg you, don't descend to their level," he said. "Don't go and lynch. Let the army take care of them. I believe in our army."

Norzhich was also eulogized by Or Akiva's chief rabbi, the IDF Chaplain General, and the commander of the battalion in which the reservist served. Most of the mourners at the ceremony were new immigrants from the CIS.

Norzhich's widow Irena, who is three months pregnant, did not attend the funeral, due to concerns about her health.

Remembering the Barbaric Ramallah Lynch'

...twenty years to the day after the brutal, barbaric lynching of two Israeli reserve soldiers, this one isn’t being republished.

This is the important story the media failed to retell today.

On 12 October 2000, two Israeli reserve soldiers dressed in civilian clothes, Yossi Avrahami and Vadim Nurzhitz were headed towards their unit’s assembly point in a town near Jerusalem. The pair were unfamiliar with the local road system, took a wrong turn and ended up in Ramallah.

Although previously Palestinian Authority policemen had sent wayward Israelis back, this time the two reservists were detained by Palestinian Authority policemen and taken to a local police station.

The incident coincided with a nearby funeral service for a Palestinian youth who had been killed in clashes with Israeli forces two days earlier. The funeral was attended by thousands, and soon afterwards, as rumors spread that Israeli undercover agents were in the building, an angry crowd of over 1,000 Palestinians gathered outside the station calling for the death of the Israelis.

While there are indications that at first police attempted to protect the soldiers, before long the enraged rioters managed to overcome the police and storm the building. It later emerged that Palestinian Authority policemen actually took part in the horrific assault.

What followed can only be described as a savage, barbaric lynching. The crazed mob beat and stabbed the Israelis, tore the men limb from limb and gouged out their eyes. During the attack, Mr Avrahami’s wife Hani called him on his mobile phone. Instead of being greeted as usual, an unfamiliar strange voice answered the phone : “I just killed your husband.”

As all this was happening, one man came to the window and, much to the delight of the delirious crowd below,  triumphantly held up his blood-soaked hands for all to see.

The crowd stood below, waving fists and cheering. The body of one of the soldiers was then thrown out of the window. The baying crowd rushed to attack, beating and stamping the lifeless body in a frenzy. The body of the other soldier was set on fire. One of the soldiers was later seen upside down, dangling from a rope.

The horrendous episode was not over. Within minutes of murdering the Israelis, the mob dragged the two butchered bodies to nearby Al-Manara Square, and broke out into impromptu victory celebrations.

The Ramallah lynching was our warning of what was to come

The dark suspicion, separation and iron hand that categorizes Israel's relationship with the Palestinians today can all be traced back to the brutal murder of two IDF reservists in a West Bank police stations exactly 20 years ago

In October 2000, a horrific report led the nightly TV news broadcasts. Two young IDF reservists who were reporting to their base in a civilian and had accidentally driven past the Beituna checkpoint in the West Bank and ended up in the city of Ramallah.

Instead of being turned back, the pair were arrested by Palestinian security forces and taken to a police station in Ramallah, near Yasser Arafat’s Mukatah headquarters.

A rumor that the two... Vadim Norzhich and Yossi Avrahami, were held in the Palestinian police building quickly spread throughout the city.

Within minutes, more than 1,000 Palestinians had surrounded the police station, baying for the Israelis' blood. The Palestinian police officers barely made any effort to block the path of rioters, and instead stepped aside, fleeing and leaving the mob to overrun the station.

What happened next is all too well known in Israel.

The rioters seized the two soldiers and violently began to assault them. They used anything they could grab inside the station, including their bare hands.

They strangled, clubbed, stabbed and kicked the Israelis so badly there was barely anything left.

Proudly the murderers flung open the windows of the room infamously displaying their blood-drenched hands to the cheering crowds of rioters outside.

With the scent of Jewish blood in the air, the frenzied mob demanded that they too should get a piece of the Israeli bodies and so the killers on the second floor obliged.

They threw the lifeless bodies of Norzhich and Avrahami out of the window to the courtyard below. The street assembly now joined in the lynching, further bludgeoning and ripping the dead Israelis apart, before setting one on fire.

Years later, a judge would criticize me for attaching the gruesome autopsy photos to court documents, asking whether it was "truly necessary.”

Little was I to know, when I heard that first horrible TV broadcast on October 12, 2000 of the Ramallah lynching that I would spend the next 20 years of my life, along with the brave families of the victims and a dedicated group of young attorneys in courtrooms worldwide vigilantly fighting for justice for the Israelis brutally murdered by our “peace partners,” the Palestinians during the Second Intifada...

The Ramallah lynching, which was televised and rebroadcast repeatedly, was the very start of the Intifada that changed everything to come.

In October 2000, many of us were shockingly caught off guard by the ferocity of the Palestinians’ violence and rage...

Suddenly we found ourselves under a full scale attack by a neighboring population targeting our buses, our schools, our cafes, malls and our homes.

Anyone who was in Israel at the time recalls with a shudder the fear and lack of comprehension we experienced over the hourly barbaric terror attacks led by the unrepentant terrorists we had insanely armed and imported from Tunis...

In exchange for their brutal attempt at genocide against us, the Palestinians set back their own cause by decades. Twenty years later, their devastated economy, lack of any sovereign institutions, impotent and divided leadership and abandonment of hope is the harsh price they deservedly pay for believing they could murder and terrorize Jews into submission.

The dark suspicion, separation and iron hand that categorizes our relationship with the Palestinians today can all be traced back to the Ramallah lynching.

While Arab states all across the Middle East both openly and covertly are establishing relations with Israel, the Palestinian leadership is still holding onto their ‘pay to slay’ policy and their support for terrorism.

Another Tack: Some truly hated truths

... Woe betide anyone who accuses Arabs of bloodlust, of savagery, of primitive bestiality. Yet these are eminently justified accusations.

How otherwise can we characterize the images of Fatah loyalists elatedly glorying in the blood dripping from their hands after they had butchered two Israeli reservists – Vadim Norzhitz and Yossi Avrahami - on October 12, 2000.

The victims' sole sin was getting lost, taking the wrong turn and blundering into Ramallah. By the jungle rules of Palestinian society that sufficed to mandate a gruesome death sentence.

Although taken into custody by PA policemen, Norzhitz and Avrahami were beaten to a pulp inside the station and then tossed out the window to the eager cannibalistic mob, which proceeded to rip the two to shreds, mutilate the corpses and burn them.

Entrails and bloodied organs were hoisted triumphantly in feral brutality. The unrecognizable remains were dragged, with the avid help of the cops, to al-Manara Square where a maniacal impromptu celebration broke out.

None of this would have been acknowledged had an Italian film crew (later identified as working for Mediaset) not filmed isolated segments of the slaughter surreptitiously.

British photographer Mark Seager was assaulted when he attempted to snap shots.  He afterwards testified that the lynching “was the most horrible thing that I have ever seen and I have reported from Congo, Kosovo, many bad places... I'm a very forgiving person but I'll never forget this. It was murder of the most barbaric kind. When I think about it, I see that man's head, all smashed. I know that I'll have nightmares for the rest of my life.”

An ABC crew that also sought to do its job was intimidated with knives, clubs and actual beatings.

It got way worse. There were outright threats against outlets who dared broadcast Mediaset’s footage. Four days after the murders, Ricardo Cristiano, deputy head of the Jerusalem bureau of Italy's state television channel RAI, publically dissociated himself and his organization from any connection to the visual chronicling of Ramallah’s horror.

In a letter published in the PA’s official daily al-Hayat al-Jadida, Cristiano unhesitatingly threw Mediaset’s team to the dogs and forced it to pull out of all Palestinian areas for fear of deadly revenge attacks. Long live freedom of the press.

The craven capitulation to Arab diktats didn’t end there. Obsequiously, Cristiano pledged that he and all RAI personnel “always respect (and will continue to respect) the journalistic procedures with the Palestinian Authority for journalistic work in Palestine and we are credible in our precise work... We thank you [the Palestinian Authority] for your trust, and you can be sure that this is not our way of acting. We do not (will not) do such a thing" [expose an atrocity].

After this, pardon us headstrong Israelis for our jaundiced view of the impartiality of the foreign media. Nothing that may cast the Arabs in a negative light is likely to be resonated. Yet news purveyors overseas do love bodies and blood – as long as they aren’t Jewish. Arab bodies and suffering that can be blamed on Jews sell newspapers and raise ratings. Nothing must, heaven forefend, impart a smidgen of skepticism about the updated gospel of Jewish villainy.

The cowardice and bias so shamefully laid bare on October 2000 hadn’t diminished. If anything, they mushroomed. They earned acceptance and respectability which rule out casting any doubt on what’s dished out to uninitiated news-consumers in other lands.

Nothing must be shown of Hamas’s exploitation of civilians in Gaza while everything must be done to disseminate what Arabs propagandists want shown. The resultant impression is irredeemably skewed and not unintentionally so.

It’s from this ill-will that contentions of “disproportionality” spring forth. For the Jewish state and for it alone a new standard has been set up: there need be as many dead Jews as there are Arab dead. Not enough dead Jews upset the equanimity of judgmental world opinion.

This proportionality might be achieved in one of two ways:

1. The Jews might ditch their tie-breaking Iron Dome anti-rocket defenses and lock all Israelis out of shelters. This would render Israeli civilians every bit as vulnerable as the Gazan human shields. Thus Hamas rocketers would win a fighting chance to cause fitting carnage throughout Israel’s heartland (which is what UN High Commissioner for Human Right Navi Pillay essentially suggested).

2. Alternatively, Israel should keep its hands off Gazan rocket crews and tunnel-infiltrators. If Israel lets them do their worst, and slay Israelis without any constraints, then proportionality might thereby too be assured (which Pillay also essentially suggested).

Plainly put, Israel is required to cease safeguarding its civilians – either by purely defensive means or by offensive deterrence. Only so, by giving Hamas the upper hand, can we relieve the acute anxiety of pompous pontificators in the White House and State Department, in the EU and UN.

The truth is that the world’s self-professed objective observers and self-promoted seekers of justice aren’t anti-violence. They stood calmly aside for fourteen years during which Gaza rocketed Israeli civilians. It’s only when Israel finally defends its people, that global peace is inconsiderately disrupted.

The truth is that the world favors a one-sided war in which Arabs inflict punishment on Israelis but expect none back. Somehow, those who lob rockets at Israel with the aim of causing massive civilian casualties, shouldn’t expect civilian casualties on their side. Those who tunnel under Israel’s border with the aim of causing massive civilian casualties, shouldn’t expect civilian casualties on their side.

The truth is that Israel’s cardinal sin is not allowing its genocidal enemies a deluxe war. This has earned us wrath in censorious capitals and yet another preposterous summons from the UNHRC’s kangaroo court.

The truth is that none of the moral relativists out there will admit that the only imbalance in our equation is between the morality of an ultra-liberal democracy and the immorality of the primeval fanatics who beleaguer it.

The truth is that Gaza’s piteous plaintiveness must be juxtaposed with the riotous rejoicing over a single Israeli’s “capture.”

Our World: The media and enduring narrative.

The disproved al-Dura shooting, the mythological Jenin massacre and the fabricated Kafr Kana bombing stand out for their strategic impact on the course of events.

Last Wednesday's terror attack in Jerusalem was unique. Due to the fact that Husam Taysir Dwayat bulldozed his victims outside of Jerusalem Capitol Studios where many of the foreign television networks have their offices, his was one of only two attacks to have been caught live on camera.

The only other attack which was filmed was the lynching of IDF reservists Yosef Avrahami and Vadim Novesche at a Palestinian police station in Ramallah on October 12, 2000. That attack, which showed the mob basking in the blood of the two men, was filmed by an Italian camerawoman from the privately owned Mediaset television station. The attack last Wednesday was filmed by the BBC whose correspondent Tim Franks witnessed the carnage from the outset through his office window. Their film documentation is not the only things those two attacks share. The lynch in Ramallah and the attack last Wednesday are also the only attacks that elicited abject apologies by otherwise arrogant media giants.

In the aftermath of the lynch, Riccardo Cristiano, Italy's state-owned RAI network's correspondent in Israel, wrote a groveling apology to the Palestinian Authority in which he went to painstaking lengths to explain that it was not his network, but his competitor that published the footage. In the letter which the PA published in its Al Hayat al Jadida daily, Cristiano fawned, "We always respect the journalistic procedures with the Palestinian Authority for [journalistic] work in Palestine and we are credible in our precise work. We thank you for your trust, and you can be sure that this is not our way of acting. We will not do such a thing." ON FRIDAY, the BBC published an apology for broadcasting the footage of Wednesday's carnage...

Over the past eight years of the jihad against Israel, among countless examples, three instances of open media collusion with Israel's enemies stand out for their strategic impact on the course of events. First there is the al-Dura affair. It was followed by the mythical "Jenin massacre" in April 2002.

That in turn was followed by the fabricated "massacre" at Kafar Kana in Lebanon in July 2006. The al-Dura story solidified the Palestinian narrative of victimization by Israel just months after they rejected statehood and peace at Camp David. When the so-called Jenin massacre was reported in April 2002, the IDF was in the midst of Operation Defensive Shield. Just before the Palestinians began making allegations of an Israeli massacre, IDF forces uncovered documentary evidence proving that the Palestinian war against Israel was run by the PA and Yassir Arafat. By fabricating the massacre, the PA was saved from being delegitimized as an actor in Washington. The Israeli peace camp was also resuscitated from its death throes. As the Winograd Commission documented in its final report on the Second Lebanon War, the media reports of the fabricated massacre of Lebanese civilians by an IAF bomber in Kafr Kana in South Lebanon caused US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to end US support for an Israeli military victory over Iran's Lebanese proxy and to pressure Israel to accept a cease-fire leaving Hizbullah intact. Even as analyses of the reports from Jenin and Kafar Kana like the reports on the al-Dura affair clearly demonstrated that the IDF had committed no atrocities, the distorted footage put out by the media made it impossible for Israel to defend itself in the court of public opinion.

Like the al-Dura affair, the media's open collusion with the Palestinians in Jenin and Hizbullah in Kafr Kana prolonged false narratives predicated on Israeli aggression which were about to be finally laid to rest. So it is not merely arrogance that makes Enderlin and his colleagues unwilling to come clean anymore than it was humility that made the BBC and Cristiani apologize. Depressingly, what all of this illustrates is that the media will only give us the information they wish us to have. And that information's relationship to the truth is arbitrary at best.

Palestinian policeman convicted of 2000 lynch of IDF soldiers in Ramallah freed

Retrial finds 'defendant had small part in incident' which has been 'burned into consciousness of Israelis'...

Hatam Faiz Khalil Magari's conviction was reduced from murder to assault...

The judges acknowledged Magari's involvement in "an event that was burned into the consciousness of Israelis more than almost any other," pointing out that he was among the Palestinian police officers who arrested the two soldiers and brought them to the Palestinian police station in Ramallah.

But the judges concluded that that evidence which helped identify Magari as one of the murderers was problematic, and reached a plea deal reducing his conviction and sentence.

"The defendant had a small part in the incident" in Ramallah, the judges wrote in their verdict, saying that Magari "beat them on the way to the station but was not among those who assaulted the soldiers inside the station and caused their deaths."

What the Ramallah lynchings taught us about Palestinian incitement.

To achieve real peace, the international community and mainstream media must ensure that the P.A. ends its daily campaign of incitement and dehumanization.

The most visceral image from that day was that of Aziz Salha proudly waving his blood-stained hands from the police station window.

This bestial murder, and the ghastly images surrounding it, have haunted a generation of Israelis who had supported the Oslo peace accords and witnessed, only a few months previously, then-Prime Minister Ehud Barak offer the Palestinian leadership a state with Jerusalem as its capital and control over the Temple Mount. The Palestinians rejected this offer out of hand, like all before and since.

At that moment, many Israelis understood that to perpetrate such a murder, and delight in it as thousands of onlookers did, flatly contradicted their belief that the Palestinian people truly wanted peace.

I... Don’t remember this. I was 13 in 2000, just in 8th grade, so perhaps my parents didn’t want me to hear about it. I also have a horrible memory, which doesn’t help.

Good God, that is... Horrifying. I thought Cannibal Island in the USSR was fvcked up. I mean, it is, but this is a huge portrayal of herd mentality. At least Cannibal Island was for some modicum of survival.

“Oct-2000 Ramallah Lynch racist Arab Palestine”

And keep in mind that Ramallah is in the ‘moderate’ area inhibited by Palestinians (the West Bank).

The part of Palestinian authority that is loaded with Israel-hating terrorists is Gaza, which is totally separate.

There was some science fiction story I read when I was a youth in which a dystopian society had degenerated to a point that was less alarming than what is described here. Might have been by Harlan Ellison.

There are also radical, militant Muslims who enjoy Venezuelan passport since dictator Chavez allied himself with the totalitarian Mullahcracy in Tehran... (- the semi bosses of the “palestinians” for some time).

Yoseph Haddad (@YosephHaddad) Tweeted ( Sep 30, 2021):
Disgrace and the truth are not surprising - the world continues to pay tribute to everyone who stands against Israel. And here is a film about a lawyer who represents terrorists with blood on their hands and who said about the lynching in Ramallah: "What lynching can you think of" receives a prestigious award. I would not be surprised if the next thing would be the Nobel Peace Prize for Nasrallah.

* An eyewitness journalist described: "they were like animals."

But animals typically kill to eat or to defend their young. Not for "fun".
