It’s because you aren’t homeless. ‘Round here, the homeless occupy the libraries because just about everyone else either can’t read, doesn’t want to read, or can just download a book.
It used to be like that in my town as well. The homeless dominated the computers. I wonder how Starbucks managed to keep them out all these years.

Libraries and museums were good places to go until the cities did away with the vagrancy laws.
Now the libraries are full of unwashed bums sleeping off the drinking binges. They love the AC in summer!
My favorite big city library had to close one floor due to a bedbug infestation.
Museums began to charge a small fee to keep the bums out. It worked!
