In-N-Out Burger Continues Leading the Way in Polite Resistance to California's COVID Hysteria
Red State ^ | 12/04/2021 | Jerry Wilson

Posted on 12/04/2021 8:10:53 PM PST by SeekAndFind

In-N-Out, the California-based fast-food chain noted for low prices, quality food, efficient & friendly service, and Scripture verses on its packaging, is rapidly adding another signifier to its persona. Namely, non-compliance with government overreach.

Maintaining a tradition noted earlier here on RedState by myself and Brandon Morse, In-N-Out, which owns Los Angeles and assorted suburbs in not dissimilar fashion to how Disneyland owns Anaheim, is defying via declining to enforce county mandates that it must ask all dining patrons to provide proof of COVID vaccination before being served.

This, as a local news reporter breathlessly reported, could result in fines of up to $5,000. Or, as In-N-Out refers to it, an average seven minutes at the drive-thru window during slow times of the day.

It’s not like this should come as a shock to anyone familiar with either In-N-Out or California politics on any level. Be it on the state, county, city, or any other level, no one outdoes California politicos when it comes to killing the goose that lays the golden state’s eggs used to fund guaranteed failure social engineering projects.

Although as of yet, Los Angeles County has not yet followed its northern partner in crime Contra Costa County’s virus police measures that led In-N-Out to close its indoor dining facilities — in lieu of putting up with assorted health department mosquito pricks. One can easily see La-La Land’s thirst for more money to flush away on whatever this week’s pet project may be trying to bully the restaurant chain. This duly noted, even local bureaucrats might hesitate to move against the fast food behemoth.

In Southern California, In-N-Out is one of the four major food groups, and any move restricting access to its burgers and fries could well result in an outcry making the Crips versus Bloods look like a high tea social. Also, while as yet unconfirmed, it has been reported the chain will be adding Luke 22:36 to its existing verses on drink cups and such.

All in all, this is another example of common sense versus hysteria. COVID is real. The overreaction and personal freedom attacks/political power grabs in response? Even more so.

But fear not, Double-Double fans. Even if Los Angeles County moves against the crossed palm trees kingdom, Ron DeSantis has quietly issued an order making In-N-Out the official food supplier of his newly announced militia currently preparing to reverse Sherman’s march through Georgia — (maybe) en route to Washington, D.C.

Word is they want to move their headquarters to FL. Could be major expansion, and a major FU to Cali.

During my just over a year-long exile to California (Bay Area) in 2016-2017 (for work), I remember being impressed with how friendly and efficient the employees at In-N-Out were.

Friendliness is not something that was common there, but the In-N-Out folks were always nice. The food was just OK, but the people were cool.

When do they relocate Corporate to Arizona or Texas...Maybe Florida. I’d guess it’s only a matter of time.

While a part of me (as a FL resident) wants this to be true, I don't see it happening. They're a California company through and through. I mean that in an "old California from the glory days" way. Their roots are in California and even though California has gone full retard, that's where they were born and where they'll stay.

Just saying it’s out there. Buc-ees is in FL now. Wawa is everywhere in FL. Why wouldn’t In and Out want to come here?

I used to go to the store in Fairfield. I thought it was pretty good. 👍

I like the word ‘polite’. It’s not often we see ‘polite’ any longer.

Getting away from the state sponsored Vaxx Nazis might be one reason to relocate your corporation to Florida. My wife wants to move our two person corporation to Florida for similar reasons.

I wish it would happen. I love In-n-Out, I used to live in CA and visit a lot for work, they're my favorite burger place by far. They're very, very much a West Coast business though.

Stranger things have happened. I hope I'm wrong and you're right.

And wawa was very Philly until a few years ago. Sheetz was very PA until a few years ago. Look at what they’re doing in the Carolinas.

California and Newsom don’t care - when Toyota moved from California to Texas a few years ago, not one California State official tried to get Toyota to stay in Torrence.

What the states don’t understand (apparently) is that this is about money. Go figure.

Sure they love their hometown/state. But money rules.

A good friend of mine is a wawa exec. Their entire focus is on FL and GA (not PA other than revamping existing stores) - they gave NC and SC to Sheetz, and Sheetz gave them FL and GA.

Are there In-N-Outs in FL at all right now?

We have them here in Texas and all of the ones I’ve seen seem pretty popular. And the couple I’ve been to have the same very friendly, efficient staff as the California locations I’ve visited.

It’s still considered a very west coast company.

For now, anyway. 😏

Agreed.

“A dying culture invariably exhibits personal rudeness. Bad manners. Lack of consideration for others in minor matters. A loss of politeness, of gentle manners, is more significant than is a riot.” — Robert Heinlein

I think he had a point.
