Freedom is not a universal value.
Foreign policy of most Western countries has programmed us to believe it is. But, it is not.
Power is the universal value. Those that believe that freedom is are wrong.
History has shown us that, time and time again, but we refuse to learn the lessons of History.
"You will have to assert yourself in the future."
^ This was never taught to me at home, school or church. For some reason the culture I was raised in had an overarching theme of carelessness. I had to see for myself that this world is perilous.
Lately I've been hearing talk about what the universal cause of unhappiness is, and from various unrelated sources including Far East and Greek philosophy, the answer comes back as a lack of assertiveness: having a disorganized mind, making compulsive choices, failing to focus an intention. In general it is this:
