COLUMBIA, S.C. – South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster on Wednesday declared a State of Emergency ahead of a forecasted winter storm.

Gov. McMaster is urging all residents to monitor local weather updates and take safety precautions.

“South Carolina is expected to experience winter storm weather again this week,” said Gov. McMaster. “Those in potentially impacted areas should begin safety preparations now. Please check your local forecasts and stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary once the storm begins.”

Winter.
It happens.

Hopefully they’re not too dependent on Big Wind and Big Sun for juice.

They’ll have to first temporarily suspend the global warming panic until winter is over.

The only available sand to put on roads would be Myrtle Beach. And the likely only snowplow fell off a truck headed to Norf Cairolinah.

I have dear family in coastal SC. They are just going to stay home and barbecue. Not even going out on their boats. They have enough beer. They visited us in Colorado, looking for snow after Thanksgiving. They’ll see more at home.

You’re not kidding. This is the first time it snowed twice south of Charlotte in one winter and it’s only January.

Israel is also expecting snow, including Jerusalem. I think it happens there every few years.

I lived in Kyoto Japan for years and it might snow once a winter if you were lucky back in the 2000s.

It’s snowed at least six times already.

Add to that the arctic ice cap is bigger than it has been the last decade.

Um, the forecast was for 2/10” to 4/10” of ice.

That much ice deserves a state of emergency. You can’t do anything with ice.

Which state is that?

Way too many qualify for those categories.

A demolition derby.

Many years ago, I remeber watching news clips of Atlanta drivers trying to drive on ice. It was an unmitigated disaster.

Ice is much worse than snow. Even a little can cause major problems like downed trees and power lines as well as accidemts..
