Scales are always political. Those DOT officers can single out those they don’t like, and turn their lives and businesses upside down with ease.
The order from John Lohr, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing in Nova Scotia is directed at people gathering to wave flags, cheer, and otherwise support "in support of a 2022 Freedom Convoy, an Atlantic Canada Holds the Line event, or an organized protest intended to interfere with the normal flow of vehicle traffic on a road, street, or highway."
It relies of the March 2020 COVID "state of emergency".
Did anyone who went along with the original "state of emergency" think that less than 2 years later their own government would put "summary fines" on people who simply want to stand on an overpass, or along the side of the road and wave the Canadian flag?
This should be a lesson for everyone. Once a government gets unlimited "emergency" power tyranny follows.
