I’ve had a hankering for a real, honest to God hard roll with poppy seeds.
Down here on The Jersey Shore their idea of a hard roll is a hamburger bun.
Yes, I believe Brothers is still in business; I’m a fan of Portuguese rolls, but more and more small delis are being replaced with 7-11s and such (there is a Wawa by the Kearny Wal-Mart as well).
I thought some of the business owners moved their businesses to the shore (following the Americans south); didn’t Thompson’s Fish & Chips move down there (Belmar)?
Still have that eyesore on Bergen that was built as West Hudson Hospital’s parking deck; residents opposed it because it, it was built anyway, then the hospital closed. Too many illegals getting “free” care, while the state kept reducing the charitycare reimbursement...
