NOT my blog.
A good thing Canada is Safe.
I know where I will be packing up the truck and heading toward.
There is no threat level increase. Putin won’t incinerate his grandchildren and hand a depopulated and irradiated Russia to China because he can’t annex Ukraine.
Why anyone would want to waste an expense bomb on a wasteland like Detroit, I’ll never know.
MIRV attacks will cover a lot of ground, but those damage zones look a tad exaggerated.
Putin would be assuming room temperature had he pulled this stunt on DJT’s watch. Threatening to launch 500 nukes would have been signing his own death warrant, or living the remainder of his life in an underground bunker (and even then justice would get to Putin eventually).
How about a nice game of chess?
Long ago I worked in a GM parts factory that was a tertiary target.
Map is very old and out of date. There isn’t a big nasty red splotch at Kings Bay, GA, home of the Navy’s East Coast SSBN base.
Lived and worked on a SAC/ACC base that had bombers “cocked” on the Alert Pad. I didn’t care then, don’t really care now! ;)
Just do your best every day. Okay, maybe not on Saturday. But on every other day, do your best.
Map is effectively useless without names of specific military installations being the rule rather than the exception.
The map maker glaringly missed Pearl Harbor and the major Satcom installation on Oahu.
Another map missed the nuke stoarge at Nellis AFB.
San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, Baltimore, Atlanta, NYC and D.C. are obliterated.
It’s a great deal! We’ll take it!
Nuking our ICBM site will fry a lot of prairie dogs but they will be empty holes.
Every time a nuke plant would go up (three mile island, Fukushima, etc) potassium iodide tablets would be impossible to get. So I bought some when the demand was down. I’d expect they have a shelf life of forever.
Plus I bought a bunch of old cold war fallout shelter stuff, radiation meters, Geiger counters, dosemeters (all tested and working when I got them) and US government guides on preparing a fallout shelter and protecting yourself from fallout.

BTTT!!!
15 or 20 years ago a list was published showing the top 50 targets of the Russians. One was a building in downtown Dallas. The employees were issued backpacks with pouches of water, gloves, masks, a foil survival blanket, a whistle, and a few other things. It was suggested that the employees supplement with energy bars and other items they might find useful.
My first assignment was at Cheyenne Mountain, NORAD.
My little Univac 1106 was the MEBU, Mission Essential Back Up, that helped run the Missile Warning maps, especially for training scenarios.
I used to watch these exercises on the little video screen we had in the computer room (Not the big screens in Missile Warning) and think, “Someday, some idiot or mad man is really going to push the button and we’ll all be dead.”
I still dream about it.
