There are apparently thousands of Israelis living in Ukraine who are IDF veterans. Most are males married to Ukrainian women.
And many ‘Russian’ Israelis in Israel have greater affinity for Ukraine than Russia. Not sure I understand it, given Ukrainian history, but such is the case.

1. About half are from what is now Ukraine.
2. Regardless of where they are from, almost all hate the USSR and understand the goals of KGB Russia. Of course, some hold grudges.
