Conservative activists in Portland announce intention to sue city, mayor and left-wing district attorney in tort claim

The organizers behind an August 2021 patriotic-themed rally in Portland, Ore., that was descended upon by Antifa militants armed with homemade explosives, have sent a tort claim notice to the city saying they intend to sue Portland, Mayor Ted Wheeler and progressive Multnomah County District Attorney Mike Schmidt for "intentionally and negligently withholding protection."

The Feb. 18 tort notice seen exclusively by The Post Millennial alleges the parties' decisions resulted in "violence, trauma, mental and physical damages for the women, caused by the protesters, despite event organizers moving the event to another location to avoid the threatened violence."

The Aug. 22, 2021, event, titled "Summer of Love: Patriots Spreading Love not Hate," devolved into a mass brawl after Antifa militants traveled 10 miles from their downtown direct action to confront attendees of the right-wing event in northeast Portland. A van driven by Antifa was overturned by right-wing rally attendees in a viral video at the time.

Later on in the day, Antifa engaged in a shoot out with a man who was unrelated to any protest. The man surrendered to police and was arrested but police are still seeking information about the Antifa shooter, who escaped.

Should be interesting, Portland is self insured, don’t see how the victims can get a fair trial there.

Andy Ngo often documents when antifa’s social media accounts are threatening violence and then following up on their threats. It makes you wonder if the Portland police are paying as much attention to those accounts as Andy is....

Good.

But SCROTUS already in prior cases pretty much said there is no right to personal protection by police or military.

With discovery, if the thousands of hours of posted video aren’t evidence enough, the internal communications of the PPB should prove rather damning.

Portland long before that was a city with promise. But the ‘good ol’ boys club’ was comprised of leftist democrats who sought to manipulate minorities in the city and ruin a chance at a multicultural & diverse city.

Now it’s so woke & regressive that a Conservative should NEVER walk a street alone wearing anything with political message, especially a MAGA hat.

I hated Portlandia at the time, but never expected it to be a recruitment series for idiots to flock to the city and empower the leftists in charge.

The sad thing is that some Oregonians actually believe that there’s a chance of a Republican governor this fall, or that it would make a difference.

I wish them luck in their case against the city; it could very well have involved me as well.

Portlandia was hysterical...it was what SNL used to be when it was actually funny. And Portland was a haven for hipster douchebags long before the series aired... that's where they got their funniest material.

"Put a bird on it... make it pretty!"

"Is the chicken local?"

And who can forget the Raw Food Cafe? "I'm feeling a little... gassy..."

Portlandia was satire. I guarantee that true leftists were probably offended. It was hilariously good, pointing out the crazy that lives there and making fun of it.

You’re obviously not from Portland.

I regret to write: Congratulations. You’re partly to blame for the success of the series and the terminal influx of liberals who made the city a permanent pit of hell.

Even my liberal father hated the show.

💁🏼‍♀️What can I say…? Sucks to be you? Maybe next they’ll write a series about a real estate agent in Phoenix making millions off selling ridiculously priced homes to LA and Portlandia evacuees, who are fighting each other like rabid dogs to pay that much for a house that was worth $200K two years ago. And then after moving in, they realize they’re living next to a meth lab or landfill and all their neighbors hate their guts because their property taxes have tripled.

That sounds like fun, right?
