Because the nature of an interfaith prayer service is that it has clergymen representing all sorts of religions and denominations--Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, etc.--all of them leading prayers and delivering messages, as though all of those religions were equally valid. The effect of this is to reduce Jesus to just one option among many. But that can never be.

True. Interfaith gatherings make a mockery of the crucifixion.

Jesus asked the Father if there was any way this cup of suffering might pass him? The answer was no, and so He had to die.

But if many religions are valid, the answer was, "No, there's no need for You to die. There are many ways to Heaven. But it's still nice to give people more choices. So suffer and die for an additional path to Heaven."
