OPINION
What we do know for certain:
For the past couple of years, Vladimir Putin has said to Ukraine, “stay neutral, do not join NATO, and we will get along fine.” Yes, I am paraphrasing, but that was the gist of the warnings. Ukraine, for whatever reason, kept pressuring NATO for admittance. Putin kept saying, “don’t do it; we need a buffer between the Motherland and all of the NATO rockets and fighter jets.” President Trump knew the reasoning behind Putin’s decision, and he knew what would happen. Knowing this, Trump told Ukraine to stop with their request to join. Ukraine stood down, and whether Putin thought Trump was a loose cannon or because Ukraine stood down, all was quiet for Trump’s tenure in office.
Joe Biden enters the office, and once again, Ukraine is at the table requesting to join NATO. However, Ukraine holds a sledgehammer over Joe Biden and his son Hunter this time. Biden does nothing to stop Ukraine, even in the face of Russia warnings.
Forget all the mainstream newscast; forget the hyperbole on the United States, Ukraine, and Russia propaganda. This is, in a nutshell, what happened. When you boil away all of the bull-fertilizer, Ukraine was repeatedly warned, Putin was serious, and the United States became a weak-kneed vessel under Joe Biden. And Vlad knew it!
Tucker: We should be very concerned about this
By the United States not pressuring Ukraine, and by the United States telling the world we would not get involved to any significant degree, we by our weakness allowed the invasion of this nation by a super-power. To make matters worse, Joe Biden, for all intents and purposes, supplied the cash or at least assisted in providing the funds necessary for his war through oil revenues derived from America. And the worst part? Joe Biden and the United States were complicit in what is now a mass slaughter of Ukraine Citizens.
As Ukraine garners more and more sympathy from nations across the globe, more and more aid will flow into the Baltic country from around the world. Today, it was published in “The National Post” that Canada and the UK have sent an approximate Batallion of troops to Ukraine. Poland is now involved to a great degree as they have already taken in some 1.5M refugees from Ukraine. Along with taking in the refugees, Poland, as well as several other NATO nations, have begun ramping up their defenses in anticipation of Russian aggression toward these once “behind the iron curtain nations.”
Without the hardware and planes to defend the ground troops, it is doubtful that the UK and Canadian presence will make much difference. But what happens when they decide to ship planes, tanks, and other field artillery to Ukraine?
The Problem as I See It
Vladimir Putin is much like Donald Trump in that he despises losing and further despises being humiliated. He is a very proud man with an enormous ego. Typically, these types of personalities will do or say whatever is necessary to win, and they will do it at all costs.
At this point in this military chess game, Putin is boxed into a corner, and Biden and company have not left him a way out to save face and ego. They have cut off his international banking ability by shutting down the SWIFT codes. This has, without question, severely crippled Russia economically. Their currency has all but been wiped out, and their oil revenue has been shut down. And yesterday, Biden announced that we were cutting off their ability to transact gold.
Medal of Honor recipient: This should scare the hell out of Putin
While yes, we and most of Europe have economically crippled Russia, what we have also successfully accomplished is to mortally anger this tyrant. This is something akin to shooting a grizzly bear with a 22 rifle. You won’t kill him, but you will anger the crap out of him, and he will hunt you down and eat you. This is effectively what we have done with Russia.
Remember Admiral Yamamoto’s famous quote after Pearl Harbor? I am afraid all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant in reference to the United States after we were attacked. This is about the size of it with Russia.
What we are witnessing in Ukraine is but a fraction of what Russia can actually do. Putin only sent about 10% of his troop strength to the front lines. He only sent about 10% of tank capacity and the same for battlefield artillery. Where Russia has over 22,000 tanks in its arsenal, the United States possesses 8,900, of which many are already stationed in Germany. The United States has around 400,000 ground troops in the Army and Marine Corps. Russia has over 1M on active duty before they call up reserves.
However, when you add NATO to the equation, we are much more balanced. This is a recipe for a bloodbath on both sides. Now one has to ask why Biden is boxing Putin in and forcing his hand? The fact is this; for us to go to an actual war with Russia would be suicide for the United States and Russia. It is a no-win, and what if Putin uses limited tactical nuclear warfare. Then we have to escalate the situation and use it also, and then nobody knows where this ends.
What needs to happen now is we find somebody, anybody who is very level-headed. Send them to Russia to meet with Putin and strike a deal to get us both out of this very tense situation, leading to disaster on both sides. The agreement needs to be where Russia and America both save face, and the bloodshed stops in Ukraine.
Does anyone have the phone number for Mar-A-Lago?
It all depends on perspective and the winner will most likely write the history.
Whatever has been game planned will take place in the next few short years because the global players will have to make their moves while this idiot is in charge of the USA.
“Whew! I almost thought we might not get another gratuitous Putin = Hitler comparison.”
I know, that poster is such an astute historian.
And like Trump, he too probably has insiders that hate him. But unlike the GOP, his haters will probably whack him before it comes down to nukes.
People die from cancer surgeries all the time. Just sayin'.....
Rather than shooting the bear with a 22 we should be building a golden bridge for Putin to retreat on...
Ukraine is not a Baltic country.
“People die from cancer surgeries all the time. Just sayin’..... “
True, but the problem isn’t Putin, the problem is the guy filling-in. He is HARD CORE when it comes to military action.
It is an invasion on our southern border, and a very large one at that.
Some 6 million unvetted ‘migrants’ will be pouring into our nation EVERY YEAR, and many of them will be transported by OUR GOVERNMENT all across the country and dropped off in our towns and cities. An absolute disaster.
I can hardly believe what is happening. This cannot continue, or America is finished.
We should just arm the Ukrainians with a few dozen of the W80 warheads in storage then remove ourselves from the conflict. They’re already paid for. It would save thousands of lives, billions of dollars and promote an immediate end to the war.
Imagine an independent Texas. Most Americans, with the thinking of Abraham Lincoln, would see Texans as part of our shared history and culture - and want Texas back in the Union.
Now imagine some politicians in this independent state of Texas, with the help of Mexico and China, promoting the fact that Texas was once part of Mexico. While most residents were happy to live together, this faction agitated on promotion of its hispanic history and origins, sought outlaw Texas anglo origins and to remove English from Texas. They would even create coups and manufacture color revolutions to put the most compliant people in power in Texas.
Mexico and China also then agreed that a strong, independent Texas would keep the USA off-balance, and then decided to create a military alliance and provide weapons to Texas. Chinese troops would train the Texas Army, and might be stationed as far north as Oklahoma
Now you’ll begin to understand how Russia views this situation
Keep in mind that we are also increasing measures against the Chinese Communist Party and Xi.
Russia has ample justification already for targeting American assets. Surprised they haven’t yet.
Joe Biden got Teddy Roosevelt wrong...I think he got confused and thought he meant carry a big mouth instead of a big stick. Biden has a little stick.
I have understood it all along.
The reason Putin didn’t come in with overwhelming force is because it’s like Texas invading Oklahoma. Half the troops have relatives on the other side.
All Putin wanted was a neutral Ukraine, but the globalist psychopaths don’t.
They do think war will save them and Assistant Democrats are lining up to help them.
Plenty of assistant Assistant Democrats right here jumping on the Biden bandwagon to war.
When the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc fell NATO essentially lost its purpose (unless you count keeping troops in Germany ... but even that changed as the Germans liked the economic boost that came with US troops) and became a sort of club where everyone on the block could join except for this one guy.
This was guaranteed to eventually cause problems because, for while it wasn’t quite as bullocks as the treaty arrangements that created WW1 it was not far behind.
NATO should have either disbanded or scaled back till a new purpose derived rationally could be found other than preserving vested interests and perks ( ester interest such as when one German high mucky muck said the “peace dividend” shouldn’t include closing any bases in Germany because that would harm their local economies) and becoming a new way to sponge off of the US where over time more and more would belly up to the bar ... except of course for the guys that simply could not join.
So what followed, NATO gradually encircling the Russians, was bound to lead to problems from the Russians.
The Russians aren’t justified, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t have a point.
Sometimes I wonder if the main requirement to be a diplomat is often to have your head shoved completely up you ass. It isn’t just that they preparing to fight the last war, but that in trying to prevent the last war they seem to create the new ones.
I have mixed opinions about this whole Ukraine thing. On the one hand, Ukraine is not a necessary ally of ours in the overall world view.
On the other hand, if Ukraine is simply a stepping-stone to overtake other former U.S.S.R countries then that sounds too much like Hitler and the start of WWII. Hitler first took Czech, then Poland then all of the other ducks fell in a row. If it is in Putin’s mind to do just that then he has to be stopped and it would be justified to kick him where he sits - all the way back to Moscow.
Kinda reminds me of how we acted in Viet Nam
———-
Don’t forget Bosnia, Serbia, Yugoslavia break up…It is clear many here weren’t old enough to follow it, I did, we were Vlad x ten. Bombing China’s embassy, supporting the wrong side, 100,000 total dead, making the current Ukie casualties look like a riot……we still have troops in Bosnia.
Like today, we have the emotional war cheerleaders in our midst following a brain Dead Biden and fake MSM.
Think of Ukraine as Texas.
How would you feel if Texas seceded and became a vassal state of China?
All Putin wanted was a neutral Ukraine, but the totalitarian globalist psychopaths like Soros and the Bidens and the Romneys who use Ukraine as their personal criminal enterprise wonderland wanted to use Ukraine to take Russia out.
This cannot continue, or America is finished.

This has been official US government policy for most of the last 30 years.
It’s been ramped up to make up for lost time during the Trump term.
It’s been completely bipartisan.
EVERY Bush League Republican that supports amnesty KNOWS what they are doing.
The only people who don’t are the fools re-electing them.
Hoeven and Rubio are up in 2022.
They WILL give away our country if re-elected.
They want amnesty done before we can re-elect Trump.
The US isn’t.
Barack Hussein Obama is.
Then he can build his communist utopia.
The author totally ignores the war in the Donbass that Russia provoked, funds, has participated in, and continues to this day.
How is seizing a part of a neighboring country, and launching a war in 2014 "getting along fine"?
