Yep. I planted potatoes, tomatoes and cucumber this year. Also have some pepper plants started. I have several fruit trees and vines. Most important I’ve stocked up on 100Lbs each of rice and beans. That isn’t intended to last forever of course... it’s a tide-over supply until things stabilize... or new sources can be found. Fishing tackle is also a must have... guns and ammo if hunting is an option... or to protect said ‘rice and beans’ from would be thieves.
For those of us in zone 10 and above we are beginning to harvest tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini and peppers. I’m also on my 4th round of radishes and 2nd round of carrots that will come out here soon. My watermelons are starting to bloom. Soon I’ll replace the cherry and beefsteaks with Everglade tomatoes. Maybe I’ll plant some okra for the pretty flowers because I’m not eating that unless it’s in gumbo or I need nutrition badly (LOL). I’m throwing in some yams for fun. Fruits are ripening as we type. In 2 years I might be skilled enough to feed myself from my tiny beach lot food forest.
Some small-animal trapping equipment might be good to add to the list. Both to cut down on the number damaging your garden, and to add to the meat supply.

If you can’t protect it, you don’t own it. Guns and ammo aren’t optional.
