A quarter of the girls in my daughter’s class identify as transgender. Seven out of 28.
When I said that on Twitter recently, I was roundly attacked for being a TERF who makes up ridiculous stories to harm trans people.
While I may be a TERF, I did not make this up. A quarter of the girls in my kid’s class identify as boys. One of them has had four names this year, all from anime series.
I keep seeing people say, both on the hell-site Twitter and in the popular media, that the trans population is a tiny minority, less than 0.1% of the population. If that is true, what is going on at my child’s school? What has made the number of trans-identified girls in one year group grow from a constant zero pre-pandemic, to 25% now?
Here’s my theory, and I know that this will be a familiar story for many parents.
The first issue is with what the school is teaching children. My daughter’s trans identity started when the school taught a module on ‘identity’ during which they told a group of 11-year-olds that, if you feel uncomfortable in your body, it means you are transgender. My daughter had just had her first period two months prior to this class. Of course she was feeling uncomfortable in her body. She went home, looked up ‘transgender’ on Tiktok, and that was it. She was now trans.
The second issue is a related one, and that is to do with the school’s non-stop celebration of LGBTQI+ identities. I used to be proud that my children attended a progressive school that is anti-racist, inclusive, and believes in social justice. We chose the school for these qualities.

Did the article say what state this is? I understand that the blogger likely wants privacy but is this in somewhere like Virginia or Missouri?
A little learning is a dangerous thing.
Teenage girls, who know first hand how utterly obnoxious teenage boys can be, want to become boys? How to even take this?
When the school teaches the celebration of transgendered individuals and treats them as “cool kids,” then more kids want that kind of attention.
So more kids identify as transgendered just so they can get the attention.
It didn’t explain TERF either.
It’s the current fad.
But it’s an odd replacement for the “all boys are creepy” stage.
Lost generation. My hope is they don’t have any surgical procedures done that can’t be reversed later.

TERF is a slur that trans activists direct at women who think there are two sexes.
IMO this whole movement is strategically geared to grab children in what has been described as the “latency” stage of development, roughly from 6 or 7 to 12.
This has long been seen as a natural stage of natural (heterosexual) development, where same-sex groups are emphasized like never before or after. This is that “boys are gross” and “girls are icky” stage as described here in wikipedia: “They start to identify with parent of the same sex. The libido is transferred from parents to friends of the same sex, clubs, and hero/role-model figures.”

I think it is easy to see how this could be leveraged to invert and distort regular psycho-sexual development with just the sort of intense propaganda being imposed on children now.
All kids are screwed up to some extent when the hormones start flowing, but instead of being told to snap out of it and things will work out in time, they’re now exposed to this trans nonsense and their partially-formed brains see it as a viable alternative.
That part makes sense, in a vacuum anything looks better than nothing. What is inexecusable is the adults who encourage and enable this behavior.
What the hell is wrong with these adults?
Plus it did get me attention from my parents, the negative kind. I suspect that is why the phase didn't last long.

Craving attention. That’s exactly correct. This is the underlying issue with all of the “trans” nonsense aside from it being a current “fad”. The children whose minds have been poisoned with this garbage want attention, and who that attention comes from is largely irrelevant.

I was thinking from the beginning "why is your kid at this school?" You answered it for me: It means you are shallow person, ideologically possessed, and a f***ng idiot.
“TERF” stands for “Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists”. It’s basically hardcore feminists, often lesbians, who (quite rightfully) see transgenderism as saying that societal gender roles determine whether you are a man or woman. Of course, those kind of feminists have been fighting against the idea of traditional gender roles forever. They think that it doesn’t matter how you look, dress, speak, or act, you are still a woman.

When you claim a superior morality that has no foundation in absolute truth and then are ‘shocked’ at the unintended consequence of your choices. Very sad indeed.
