That would be environmentally unfriendly to utilize those natural resources and the coastal commission has already put the kabosh on any plans like it. The aesthetics would be terrible for the watermelon crowd.

And the West Coast has always refused to develop desalination plants. Why is that? Israel did it, so the technology is known; it can be done.
