An agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms has filed a federal lawsuit accusing two Columbus police officers of using excessive force against him while he was working in his official capacity.
James Burk, a 16-year veteran of the ATF, went to a house in the 3300 block of Edgebrook Drive near Dublin to take a shotgun from someone who allegedly wasn’t allowed to have a gun, even do it wasn’t confirmed by the police if the man wasn’t allowed to have a gun !
Nothing else was reported about the ATF agent’s mission.
When Burk knocked on the home door, a person inside called 911 and read the dispatcher Burk’s badge number while refusing to open the door.
Burk said the dispatcher told the 911 caller not to answer the door and dispatched Columbus police officers Joseph Fihe, a 20-year member of the division, and Kevin Winchell, who is also a 20-year veteran officer.

So if you try to “work around” the requirement they'll get you. For example, if you purchase Gun 1 and Store 1 and Gun 2 at Store 2, they might be able to see that you had two background checks on the same day.
These “Federal Agents” impersonating police officers should be immediately arrested by the state and local cops who actually have LAWFUL AUTHORITY in their states while the fake-cops DO NOT.
He should have been FIRED when he stole over $200 worth of wine from an area Kroger. But FEDS don’t have standards.

If the ATF agent was in the county on a lawful mission, why didn’t he contact the local police or Sheriff, notify them as to what he was doing and why, and ask them for their assistance? I thought that was common courtesy, or maybe even required in some jurisdictions.
Meant ATF... dammit...
I swear that I saw that video several years ago but it didn’t indicate that in the article.

Let’s just get that outta the way first off.
The Fed WAS “harassing”; represented that he MUST be allowed into the home (a LIE), got told “No” repeatedly, but attempted entry, anyway, torquing on the doorknob to see if he could gain entry.

Lets’s be clear, here; this bozo never made it far enough to “try” squat; it hasn’t yet been revealed what paperwork he was carrying that may, or may not, have given him any reason to be there. There’s been talk the visit was prompted by a multi-gun purchase, but unconfirmed so far as I’ve seen. STILL NOT ANY EXCUSE for ATF to show up, AND EXPOSES the existence of a de facto registry, and exposes it being illegally used as exactly that.
[This part 100% CONFIRMS every dark and corrupt thing everyone has ever said about gun registries; if permitted to exist, they ABSOLUTELY WILL be employed in the very worst ways possible.]
Anyway, everything that happened to our indulgent abuser of Fed Privilege happened because he not only FAILED TO COMPLY, but RESISTED.
