This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

🇺🇦 Ukraine Weapons Tracker @UAWeapons · 1h

#Ukraine: A rare Russian Ural Tornado-U armored cargo truck which was transporting artillery projectiles was destroyed in Novooleksiivka, #Kherson Oblast yesterday - 150km+ behind the front line.

The ammo depot was also destroyed nearby - but what weapon was used is unknown.

So this is in Kherson region. 150km behind lines.

Ukraine is definitely using some long range weapons to hit this ammo depot and Crimea air base.

———————————————————————————————————————
••Energy - Crude Oil:
Ukrainian government stopped passage of the Russian crude crude oil through Ukraine there’s a pipeline as you can see there’s a light blue this pipeline system is called Druzhba or ‘friendship’ in English, and it has three main branches: one goes to Baltics and goes to ships and then exported around the world and apparently there was also one built to a town near Saint Peterborough on the border was Estonia.

There is another major one that goes to Germany, which is large consumer and there are two major oil refined refineries in eastern Germany that are dependent on Russian oil: one is Schweitz and the other one is Loina.

There’s the southern branch that feeds Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, and Hungary; this was cut off by Ukraine government. The formal excuse is that the Russian operator is not able to pay in US dollars, and therefore, Ukrainian government said, “As you’re not paying, then we’re not allowing your crude oil to pass through our pipeline.”

The real reason is this desire by Ukrainian government to inflict as much pain on Russia as possible. In our opinion, it’s absolutely misguided decision, because it creates more problems in central Europe. It’s not going to resolve any problems, since crude is excellent commodity for global trade; it can be easily redirected, reloaded on ships and exported around the world. There’s not going to be much problem for Russia to redirect all of this.

The other thing that’s related to this whole system is that actually Germany started switching from Russian oil. and specifically this to refineries in Schweitz and Loina; they received yesterday the first cargo of US crude oil. It looks like they’re gonna be switching to to US crude oil from the Russian crude oil. The central branches are also gonna be dead.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the northern one is also going to be dead, because Lithuania and Latvia are pretty aggressive in terms of sanctions against Russia. Nevertheless, there’s a line that goes to Luga. The Russians will be able to export and that’s not gonna be a problem for them anyways.

••Coal:
Germany is switching because Europe has stopped buying Russian coal, starting August 10. Germany, and probably the rest of the Europe, are switching to Colombian coal and Australian coal - which they started receiving; now they switching from Russia as the main supplier to other countries - probably gonna be a little bit more expensive.

Nevertheless it’s right decision for Germany, having restarted its coal-fired power plants, restarted its nuclear plants.

That’s why the Euro stabilized and didn’t go below US$1 that was the main reason that was driving Euro below US$1, as soon as Germany made this decision the Euro stabilized because that means that the well European specifically German economy which is powerhouse essentially is gonna survive.

••LNG:
It’s not it’s gonna have a lot of losses but it’s gonna survive then in terms of Nordstream-1 which is goes through the Baltic Sea that still works at 20% capacity. Nevertheless Germany was able to bring up its inventory of natural gas for the winter to about 75% of what is needed. It’s getting there. There is still time, so we know that they are buying LNG from the world market, paying the spot prices which are obviously very, very high.

That then creates a domino effect for some countries, more poor countries such as Bangladesh. There is unrest there, driven by the fact that Europe and Germany, in particular, buying LNG on a sport market that used to go to less developed countries in Asia, and now they don’t have it because Europe got it. That was how the dominoes fall and how they work together.

••Nuclear:
In Ukraine, there is a huge nuclear power plant here in Ukraine at Enerhodar that produces now about 20 of Ukrainian electricity or power generation in Ukraine. Now it’s occupied by Russian troops. What’s going on, and you probably see on on TV and everywhere, that there is som shooting around this nuclear power plant. Probably not very clear explanation why this is happening. What is happening is Russia is trying to re-integrate this nuclear power plant into Russian power grid.

They need two things: first they need to take the electricity that’s generated by this power plant and direct it to the Russian grid, which they did. They connected the power line that goes through Nova Kahovka.

This we all know this place because it’s where the dam is and it’s being attacked frequently. There is a power line goes to Nova Kahovka.

Then they connected Nova Kahovka to the Crimean power grid so that’s how the Russian administration already did half of the job so that technically now they can take their electricity back into Russian power grid.

The only part that’s still in progress and about to be finished, is control over this power station. They are trying to lay the fiber optic network. They got the two at Melitopol’; now they trying to build a link to Enerhodar, allowing Rosatom to control it remotely - they have already loaded software in the nuclear power plant.

There’s only very little left once these two pieces are connected; the nuclear power plant will be disconnected from Ukrainian network, and it will work for the Russian network. Ukrainian command is trying to prevent it; that’s why you’re seeing this attacks towards Nova Kahovka - to destroy the transformers and everything that’s in Nova Kahovka connecting it to the Russian grid in Crimea.

Apparently there are some attacks in Enerhodar with the same idea to damage the power lines so this power plant cannot be integrated into Russian system.

••Nuclear Dangers:
Then, in terms of danger, all of these power plants have dual purpose and generally, in everywhere in the world that were built before 1990. They had all dual purpose military and civilian uses because they were supposed to to produce plutonium for nuclear bombs.

Because there is integration of this kind of dual goal, they are much more complex, and they are much more dangerous and things can easily get out of control and have very negative consequences. If they were just civilian use, that would be much more simple system and easier to manage and much more safer by design.

By design, they are designed less safer to allow military application and they blow up like Chernobyl - which we probably will never find out at this point, but from the sources we know, the problem was there were military experiments going there: production of new plutonium for nuclear bombs, and that process went out of control, creating the blow up.

It’s not wasn’t just if it were simply civilian use it we would just work without any problems so as you can see they’re all inherently dangerous and the same actually in the west so this is not just soviet union legacy the same is in the US same is in France the same is in UK so Japan is the same kind of stuff so it’s the systems are pretty much all the same cold war type of system so this the situation was with the energy.

What Russia is doing because Europe will stop buying coal, starting August 10th from Europe, they did the typical maneuver they always do, like what they did with crude. They’re redirecting it to India, which is typical, we already know it’s typical buyer, and then also Turkey.

We wouldn’t be surprised if there is something going on with China; we don’t have that information, but we’re pretty sure that China is big consumer of coal for power generation. We won’t be surprised to see China consuming Russian coal, given that there is a confrontation with the US and Australia.

Even though they started buying Australian coal, they probably would be more than happy to buy Russian coal so as not to be dependent on potential adversary in the conflict.

••Ukrainian financial system:
The whole financial for currency system is in trouble and in free fall, reflecting their economy. Then financial system on top of it is a mirror that’s reflecting the health of the economy. Today, the first bank that was declared bankrupt by the Ukrainian Central Bank.

What happened: a bank got refinancing from the Central Bank because of the war, but they could not repay it by refinancing. The bank had a lot of non-performing loans and couldn’t survive, so they they kind of like went to the lender of last resort, the Central Bank gave them the money - it just extended the agony of this bank and eventually it went bankrupt.

It’s a small bank, but this is a sign of the general trend of what is happening with Ukrainian financial system; it’s simply imploding. The next couple months will see more banks going belly up and more problems with Ukrainian currency because Ukrainian government is completely inept and doing extremely bad job of managing through difficult times.

••Ukrainian Foreign Currency:
Quick update on Ukrainian foreign currency reserves which is like your savings account. Ukraine lost in month of July only about 400 million US dollars of its reserves which is a pretty good result.

The best result since the start of the war, and the reason for that is because Ukrainian government decided to devalue Ukrainian currency from 29 to the US$1 to 36.5 to the US$1. That allowed the slowing down of damage to the reserves.

It’s not going to prevent it because the actual exchange rate it’s somewhat stabilized at 41-42 to the US$1; it’s still below actual market so there’s still going to be damage, probably not as fast as it used to be.

••Russian Demographics:
The demographic situation in Russia is so bad there was statistical information on the birth rate in Russia.

In June 2022 versus June 21 2021, the birth rate went down by 9.6% which is huge. How it stands relative to Ukraine. We don’t have the data right now, but Ukraine is is even worse probably 15-18%. Both country are in demographic disaster which reflects extremely terrible governance in both countries.

This all started during Soviet time; this is like a long-lasting disaster - a slowly, slowly developing disaster, stemming from the Soviet time of Communism.

This is accelerating and for that reason if you look at the demographics of their troops that are fighting, you can see a lot of old people which is a result of these demographic disasters both countries are going through. On the relative scale, Ukraine has more of a disaster versus Russia, but they basically both are falling pretty pretty quickly.

———————————————————————————————————————
Summary:
Russian troops slowly gaining ground in Bahmut and Soledar;
captured village Vershyna.
Ukrainian 56th brigade is sustaining heavy casualties by trying to stop Russian advance from Pisky.

Key areas:
- Izyum bridgehead: no changes

- North Donbass area:
Russian advance in industrial zones in Bahmut and Soledar; captured village Vershyna

- Donetsk West: no changes
- Kherson bridgehead: no changes.

1. Kharkiv: No changes.

2. Izyum bridgehead. No changes.

3. North Donbass:
Wagner mercenaries are slowly advancing in Bahmut and Soledar by capturing industrial zones on the eastern outskirts of these towns. Also, captured village Vershyna

••UA pulled the 56th Brigade out and moved south to the Piskey area.

••Orcs having success where Wagner troops are operating, very slowly.

••May have captured high heat brick factory.

••Kadema will likely be lost soon to Wagner troops.

••Orc troops are low on combat infantry manpower, unlike the Wagner troops who have sufficient troops, and the big advantage of not having Soviet era bureaucracy.

••UA troops, like the Wagner troops, use initiative, but the UA troops are mired within the larger UA bureaucratic system which limits them from doing their job.

4. West of Donetsk: No changes.
UA 56 B suffering heavy casualties from Orc artillery.

5. Vugledar: No changes.

6. Velyka Novosilka - Gulyapole stretch of frontline. No changes.

7. Kherson bridgehead: No changes.
••No new strikes on the bridges, may be due to shortage of HIMARS rockets.
••Orc attack by 108th/ 7AD may have just been a ‘demonstration’ to high command that all was well - we have enough supplies.
••Lots of UA troops here, but they are unable to launch attack south, due to UA high command’s poor leadership.

https://www.moonofalabama.org/2022/08/how-ukraine-lost-its-riches.html#more

If the Russian forces also take Kryvyi Rih and Dnipro they will have about 75-80% of Ukraine's pre-war GDP under their control.

Russia's war effort is currently financed by the 'west' which pays for it through record energy prices created by its own sanctions on Russia.

As the Russian Interfax agency reported yesterday (machine translation):

The positive balance of the current account of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation in January-July 2022 amounted to $166.6 billion, which is 3.3 times more than in the same period in 2021 ($50.1 billion). Such information is contained in the assessment of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation, published on the website of the Bank of Russia.

...

According to the base scenario of the Central Bank’s forecast for 2022, updated in July, with an average annual oil price of $80 per barrel, the current account surplus is expected to be $243 billion, the positive balance of foreign trade in goods and services - $277 billion, and the negative balance of primary and secondary income - $33 billion. If the 'west' really wants to deprive Russia of money it must immediately lift the sanctions and restart importing oil, gas and coal from Russia at then much lower prices.

Russia will not lack money to finance the rebuilding of Novorossiya's great industries. Once that is done those areas are evidently able to support themselves and to guarantee a high standard of living. They will also have enough money to militarily defend themselves against anything the poor rest of Ukraine will be able to finance.

At the end of March, after negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey, there was nearly an agreement on a ceasefire and on the end of the war. Joe Biden then tasked Boris Johnson with telling Zelensky to continue the war. The 'west' would otherwise stop paying him. Zelensky did as he was told and stopped all negotiations with Russia.

An agreement with Russia at that time would have kept the Ukraine mostly as one state with only minor losses in the Donbas. But the decision to continue the hopeless war also ended all chances for Ukraine to keep its riches.

It will be poor and helpless while its 'western' neighbors will feast on it.
