Ukrainian sources of various and certainly unknown credibility have reported some 45,000 Russian soldiers killed; or perhaps killed/wounded, but I read killed with a “K”.

Does anyone here believe that?

I cannot trust any news source in regards to Ukraine & Russia.

Russia only wanted part of Ukraine and stopped or Ukraine is putting up a stiffer defense than expected. Even saying that is pure speculation.

I DO belive Russia is hoping for assistance from an old and reliable ally.

Winter

It is quite possible that Europe may capitulate if the winter is harsh enough and people freeze.

More Energy Woes:
••Austrian wind power company seeking 1.7 billon Euros bailout ... German NG distributor in same situation - essentially bankrupt. No governmental actions are being taken with policy to change this cascade of failing

••Ukraine Military Internal Political Situation:
One of the defenders of Piskey, a battalion commander is openly calling Ukrainian leadership incompetent, both the political and military leadership are incompetent.

The army is totally unprepared and untrained. There are a lot of problems of interaction between artillery air support and infantry support, and that’s the biggest reason for Ukrainian army failing to defending the ground. The whole strategy of rigid defense and holding strongholds and not getting support from artillery or air support, leads to extremely high human losses.

The battalion commander, for example, quoted that they lost up to 500 soldiers dead defending Piskey over a 20 day period of time. The attack on Piskey started about on July 27-28. Over a 20 day period, they lost up to 500 which really means another 1500 wounded. The total was close to 2,000 people just in that village.

Piskey was a very important stronghold for Ukrainian defenses; it was important cornerstone in Ukraine defense line. It was lost about five or ten days ago. What he’s saying is they won’t get proper artillery support, or when they get it, the crews were totally incompetent. The crews would shoot 800 meters so away from the target; he was even joking that target doesn’t even understand that it’s being shot at by Ukrainian artillery. Then he said that the closest they would get to the actual target is about 80 meters away, so the target finally understands that it’s being shot at.

It’s very clear the system doesn’t work in terms of Ukrainian army, in terms of leadership, not only the Ukraine army, because it’s all coming from the very top: from Zelenski. That’s where the incompetence starts, and then it trickles down everywhere.

Now Zelenski is actively pursuing one of the generals who used to be the deputy commander of Ukrainian special forces. He was on national defense council before the war, where he was fired by Zelenski. Then he was actually defending one of the airports in Kyiv, it’s inside of the Kyiv

The videos from early July about the defense, all about the first 3 or 4 days of the war; there were 4 key airports or airport/air bases around Kyiv. Two of them were just regular passenger airports, one was military airport, and another one was a military air base.

Russian troops attacked those two military ones, but they didn’t attack the passenger ones. Nevertheless, the general was in charge of defending one of the passenger ones. Now he is actually being charged and prosecuted for defending that airport without permission or something like that.

It tells you that people who were trying to do right things are now getting punished. He did have like order from the head of the Ukrainian army. It’s an absolute mess, and in such a mess, there is no way Ukraine can defend itself successfully.

It all sort of trickles down to the front line where you have incompetent artillery crews that couldn’t even shoot right, not to mention that this attack on Piskey was essentially the only large attack in the entire front line, plus the attack in the northern Donbas section. But that was very concentrated attack because Russian troops don’t have enough resources to spread there to attack, to create strong attacks in many places. There was very focused attack.

Ukrainian army received very advanced weapons, relative to what Russia has, relative to what Ukraine has specifically though self-propelled howitzers, Krabs and from German phz-2000, then from Caesars from France, and Zuzana from Slovakia, but in any case, Ukraine has total advantage in this super precise long range artillery systems.

This attack that Russia maintained was all just an artillery firewall, using old Soviet howitzers; most of them are even not mobile; they are stationary: they sit there like a ducks for for days, not moving. They can be easily picked up and destroyed, if those those self-propelled howitzers were used properly, but they were not.

These defenders were left to themselves essentially, and they had to be to become public, to make the public post, and then speak publicly about this in order to draw attention. The problem that happened when they announced that, ‘Hey, we have a problem here’, it wasn’t like ‘Oh okay, we’re going to solve the problem’, the initial reaction from Ukraine was ‘Okay, what do we do to shut them up’, and not resolve the problem.

This is the situation why you seeing so many problems defending, so many problems in the ability why Ukrainian army cannot attack. That’s one of the main reasons. Hopefully, this give a little bit of flavor understanding of the problems in Ukrainian army.

Related to this, I received email from one of the viewers talking about the problems in their International Legion in Ukraine. People are complaining they were strong on the front line without much support, and they were shooting targets for the Russian artillery. This is not the exception. The International Legion is not a special case; it’s like everybody’s experience, everybody who’s in the front line experience is the same. They’re going through the same experience, so that’s not like this was done to them purposely.

This is the general incompetence of Ukrainian command, basically, the lack of training for artillery units, the lack of communication and ability to work together as a system between infantry, artillery support, and air support. That system does not work and all of it stems from - the very top, because this can be only fixed from the very, very top, and it’s driven by the very top.

Hopefully, that explains a little bit about the problems on Ukrainian side.

Russian Problems:
Russia has problems, some problems, but the sort of the advantage that they have is a huge amount of resources relative to Ukraine, so they can be bad they can be poor in this ways in many ways too. I’m not saying that Russian army is perfect, but they can afford that. That’s a huge difference between them: Ukraine cannot afford to be the same as Russia because then it means automatically that Ukraine has lost the war, for sure. This war is not about Donbas region here, this terrorist there, and Crimea, it’s about getting control of the entire Ukraine by Russia, which was declared by everybody in Russia.

There was another poll in Russia that shows between 70 to 80% support for the current policies and for the Putin. Many viewers probably will say, “Hey yeah, this is probably false numbers” and anything we would say that yeah probably 78 is not true, at the same time there is strong support as well, probably 50-50 and slightly above in Russia all the war. The majority of the population improves that even right now, when the sanctions start to slowly bite, people start to see the problems; they they still support the course of the current Russian leadership at large. We’re not saying that everybody’s there is the same, but at large there is that support there.

There was another analysis by some Russian expert about their artillery shells. This is we just we’re just sharing at the face value, we wouldn’t know if it’s true or not, but because there’s such a lack of any numbers that, at least, puts some perspective - might be wrong, but at least, it’s just starting point.

I’m saying, if you remember, we shared Russia has a lot of artillery shells and general ammunition; it was all stockpiled from the Soviet time. Some of it went bad the passage of time, but they still have extremely large and considerable stockpiles of ammunition. Based on this expert’s estimates, Russia has spent half of its stockpile. I think he put the stockpile at 15 million units of artillery shells of all calibers, meaning mostly it’s 120mm & 152mm, and also mortar shells: 120mm & 82mm.

At this clip, it means Russia would not have enough artillery shells to continue at this pace for another six months or so. Russian internal production is about 1.5 million artillery shells per year. What we discussed before is that Ukraine does not have resources to continue this war for years, as many say in the West and elsewhere, and Russia does not have that either. Eventually, this war may las another 6 months, maybe at most 9.

Somehow there will be some resolution, because both sides will be super exhausted - not to mention that Ukraine is, as you can see from this story in Piskey, losing a huge number of people. Its simply unsustainable, not just from perspective of the number of people, but also how it effects psychology of the population, of everybody inside of the country.

For that reason, we’ve mentioned many times before that both countries are heading to their 1917 moments, which is this is reference to the first revolution in the Russian empire on February 1917. Then came the coupe in October of 1917. Whether they both get there, its unclear, but they definitely quite far along on the way to get there.

“Today, during the day, on the direct instructions of V. Zelensky, Ukrainian troops attempted an offensive in the Mykolaiv and Kherson regions in three directions.

As a result of the active defense of the grouping of Russian troops, the AFU units suffered heavy losses.

During the fighting, 26 Ukrainian tanks, 23 infantry fighting vehicles, nine other armored combat vehicles were destroyed, two Su-25 attack aircraft were shot down.

The enemy’s losses in manpower amounted to more than 560 servicemen. Another attempt at offensive actions of the enemy failed miserably.” - RuMoDsaid
