Atlanta DA Warns Rappers To Stop Confessing To Crimes With Lyrics
ABL ^ | Anthony Brian Logan

Posted on 08/30/2022 3:22:41 PM PDT by Impala64ssa

The Fulton County (Atlanta) District Attorney Fani Willis issued a warning to rappers about confessing to crimes through lyrics in songs.

Her remarks came during a press conference announcing the indictment of the “Drug Rich Gang”. This gang originates from DeKalb County but committed a lot of crimes in Fulton County where Willis has jurisdiction.

The gang is accused of targeting celebrities and social media influencers who flaunt expensive items online. Household names like Mariah Carey have been targeted.

The gang is accused of committing violent crimes like home invasions, armed robberies, and kidnapping.

Willis has been the target of endless hateful comments online. Most of the negative comments started when she announced the indictments of popular rappers Young Thug and Gunna as well as their gang/record label “YSL”.

Hardcore fans of the rap collective accuse Willis of targeting rappers and denying them artistic leeway. A bill has been drafted in the US House Of Representatives called the “RAP ACT” that would prevent lyrics from being used against rappers.

Willis responded to a question about this ongoing controversy of rappers being “targeted” by her office. Her response, in a nutshell, was simple advice. She advised that rappers stop confessing to crimes in their songs if they don’t want these songs to be used against them in a court of law

Bragging about commiting crimes through rap. Leave it to some Dems communists in Congress to draft a bill preventing rap lyrics from being used as evidence against these thug. Artistic expression, donchya know.
The lameassed justification for this bill, Johnny Cash sung about killing a man 🎶just to watch him die🎶 but didn't actually murder anyone. Same with Freddie Mercury singing Bohemian Rhapsody. And Bob Marley really didn't shoot the sheriff. The big difference, those guys weren't singing about actual crimes they were plotting or committed.

Nice rhetorical question there. Ask the same about Congressional Dems.

I will give her credit for her press conference. Going forward we'll see if she sticks to this "tough on crime" stance.

Mayor bottomsout really surrendered the ATL to the thugs in May 2020. It's hard to reclaim that territory.

The whole glorification of st. fentynal really gave the thugs a lot of confidence.

Shouldn’t the DA be using those admissions to put these criminals in jail?

“Silent? Lady, I’m a rapper!”

Put a couple dozen of them in jail based upon their rap confessions. Maybe then the word will get out.

I love Fani Willis. she is the nation’s most bad ass DA. She is a pit bull and very passionate about catching and locking up criminals. You can see her heart is in it and she enjoy putting criminals in jail, especially violent criminals.

No easy bail in her county.

NYC would be rapidly improving with a DA like her.

I love Fani Willis.

Particularly her persecution of Trump with her "Special Grand Jury"? Why are you flying a Tennessee flag? Isn't your real name McCain or perhaps Cheney?

That was my first question too. I would suspect she is on the criminal’s side.
