Why Federal Legalization of Cannabis Is Finally Here
RealClearPolitics ^ | 9/6/2022 | Eric Spitz

If weed fails in the Senate, and no one hears, does it make any noise? On July 21, 2022, the three most ambitious U.S. senators ever to pay attention to cannabis sheepishly launched federal cannabis legislation into the future, with the introduction of the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act.

The landmark announcement drew surprisingly little fanfare. Senators Schumer, Wyden, and Booker seemed resigned. The cannabis cognoscenti immediately denied the infeasibility of the timing and the impossibility of getting to 60 votes in a bitterly divided U.S. Senate.

Then, the seas started to change in Washington. After months of gridlock, Congress passed, and the President signed, four major laws – including Democratic shibboleths like gun control, prescription drug reform, and environmental policy. Instantly, the priority level for cannabis reform rocketed toward the top.

Is this a good idea? DC and NYC already smell like pot everywhere.

I’d like to know EXACTLY what such bills propose. Stop with this “legalization” vagueness. Chances are, it’s anything but legalization.

Most people don’t understand that Weed these days is right up there with LSD for THC potency.

It is so strong in plant form (30% THC or better) and some edibles, and drinks 50%+ and some vapes/dabs are near 100%. There is just about no regulation on it and kids are gobbling this up like candy...pun intended.

This isn’t your fathers/grandfathers 5% stuff from the 60’s. Back then you could smoke 10 or more joints a day. If you did that now your brain would be deep fried.

Legalizing cannabis is a HORRIBLE idea, period, especially at the Federal level.

I don’t think everyone gets it. THC is legal in 45 states via Hemp extraction known as Delta 8, Delta 10, Thc-V, THC-O, HHC. All of these are perfectly legal because they come from HEMP (protected by the farm act of 2018). This stuff is FAR more potent than any cannabis. Call any of your local vape shops or smoke shops and ask them if they have Delta 8. Most will.

Why it’s here: The poor, ignorant, and stoned are far easier to rule.

It’s that simple.

Legalizing the recreational use of marijuana is “very very bad” idea! Just don’t!

There are many different strains of marijuana that are sold, from weak to mild to very strong. It is up to the buyer to decide as products are clearly marked as to strength and THC content.

I wouldn’t say it’s good, but alcohol is far worse.
We saw how that worked out in the 20’s.

;)
After driving back to Memphis from the game in Starksville Sunday afternoon, I opened my apartment door, and it smelled like I had a pound of weed sitting on the kitchen table. Neighbors smoke all day long. Had the same problem in L.A.
I don't have a problem with the legalization, just the smell.

One of the top priorities of Soros and his allies.

A dumbed down population is easier to manipulate.

Of course much more dangerous to live around with the massive increases in brain damage and violent, schizophrenic behavior.

“Weed these days is right up there with LSD for THC potency”

LOL. LSD doesn’t contain THC, and marijuana doesn’t contain LSD. Two completely separate things.

A lot of states look at the revenue they are losing to a neighboring state that has legal weed. It’s all about the money generated by a voluntary tax.
