The Ukraine has as many people as Afghanistan, and they drove out the Soviet Military that was four times as large. The Ukraine has a much better educated, equipped and led population, with kind of a blank check from NATO. Not only has Russia had more troops killed in six months in the Ukraine, than in ten years in Afghanistan, but we are nearing twice as many already.
Russia does not have a snowball’s chance.

The truth of the matter is that Russia is relying on the Donbas militias to do the bulk of the front line fighting because it is home for those militias. Claims that the Russian military has suffered major casualties is delusional because the Russian forces are in the rear and providing fire support–ground and air–to the Donbas militias. Yes, there are some Russian troops on the frontlines in some places, but the cold, hard fact is that Russia has not committed a significant portion of its total military forces to the battle. Not yet, anyway.
Ah, an old gaslighting nugget from 2014. LOL. The “truth of the matter” is that Russia its supporters here lied in 2014 and said it was “local separatists” when it fact it was Russian soldiers with no insignia doing the fighting. We know that because Putin handed out the medals later to them and because many recent obituaries of Russian soldiers have breezily mentioned that they served in 2014-15.
The truth of the mater is Russia’s corrupt and incompetent military is taking a humiliating beating today. You need to accept the facts at hand and stop gaslighting in support of the Kremlin on a conservative website.

Controlling Europe's energy is central to Russia's geopolitical strategy. Putin prevented the Turkey-Qatar pipeline (via his puppet Assad) and will likely block other pipelines through Syria, unless they carry Iranian gas exclusively. The question is, will Assad continue to obey Putin, or take the much needed money? The west has been trying to flip Assad for decades.
Russian forces advancing backwards toward the Russian border and Momma's house, as a goodwill gesture. Or maybe it was all just a masterful feint by an omnipotent SuperDuperPower.

It’s starting to look like this is the start of forward movement for the Ukies. Russians are reportedly moving back from Donetsk but if the Russians hold true to form they’re really just doing a scrimmage to try to plug holes in their defenses.
I would not count the Russians out at this point but they’re clearly losing ground and as word spreads within the Russian command we will see a number of risk-averse politically-connected (and utterly unqualified) brass pull back to save their commands and their respective butts.

Aside from yourself I don’t know of any other Russians making this claim.
