To which I’d add: It was a Republican administration that set the ground rules in Afghanistan. Bush II went for nation-building instead of enemy-destroying.

Then that same Republican administration decided to take the focus off Afghanistan and instead start a bloody and unnecessary war in Iraq.

My point is that there is plenty of blame to go around.

And as I side note, I fear we will have learned nothing from this. After all, Bush II had the lessons of Vietnam right in front of him. Yet Bush repeated many of LBJ’s mistakes. On and on it goes.

For the military-industrial fortune builders, the war in Iraq was necessary in order to fund more manufacturing of armaments. Want evidence of their deceit? Look at what the US left behind in Afghanitoilet and what the complex is sending to Ukraine which will all need more manufacturing funded by the tax payers grandchildren..!
